This is exactly what i referred to when saying they finally made a worthy card after seeing the leaked graphs a few pages back. If the performance AND consumption numbers are true (we'll see in a couple of hours) then they achieved exactly what I was missing from their cards for long years - that nvidia realized after the Fermi fiasco, I would say - efficiency. Because I do care how much power is wasted at any given time the GPU gets power.
On the other side, it seems neither company is able to make a powerful GPGPU AND keep it power efficient at the same time while it is used for it's original purpose: gaming. Maybe that is the next step in GPU evolution. Again, congratz nvidia, you showed you can design an efficient GPU after all.
It's not revolutionary in general, since it is a side effect of a process shrink, but it is a revolution for nvidia, no matter how you look at it. Their perf./watt was miserable in the past years.
