Has anyone gotten their Rampage IV Extreme work with Windows 8 Consumer Preview? There seem to be some issues regarding the Intel Rapid Storage Enterprise controller resulting in a "DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION" BSOD upon launching the Windows 8 Consumer Preview installation, I tried installing on another system and just bring the disk over to my LGA2011 system but then I get the very same BSOD upon booting.

Normally I run RAID mode as I've got three Intel X25-M 80GB SSD's in RAID0 as OS solution, and two Western Digital RE4 2TB disks in RAID1 for important data and this simply wont work with the Windows 8 Consumer Preview. Then I heard someone said going AHCI was fixing the issues so I just disabled my RAID systems and changed to AHCI in the EFI BIOS but I'm still faced with the "DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION" BSOD upon launching the Windows 8 Consumer Preview installation.

Might give IDE mode a go, but I don't feel like going all the way towards IDE mode slowing down my SSD's.

Surely there must be something we can do to bypass this?

I had no problem running a pair of Corsair Force GT 240GB drives in r0 on Windows 8, however I did not install IRST and instead used the default windows driver.

I had the same issue while installing win7 64bit on raid 0, it was hanging each time on reboot until I plugged the Ethernet cable (I found the solution thanks to Google).
You can try that, I had a low confidence in this solution but it worked for me and someone else.

    Good luck.
