This card already has the bios posted in the first page of the thread. So noob question. How are you guys getting the core clocks higher than 1125?

MSI Afterburner 2.2.0 Beta 10

-Added AMD Tahiti graphics processors family support
-Added core voltage control for reference design AMD RADEON 7970 graphics cards with CHL8228 voltage regulators
-Now unofficial overclocking can be enabled without typing in the EULA into the configuration file. In this case the EULA is displayed and you're forced to accept it during MSI Afterburner startup
-Added power user oriented command line switches allowing to extend Overdrive clock limits on AMD graphics cards attached to Windows desktop

Use "Unofficial Overclocking Mode" in MSI Afterburner (enabled via the config file).

I posted a thread over at Guru3D and Unwinder responded: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread....98#post4216598 . He says the AB is working as intended and the sensors are just off. It still doesn't explain why adding Vcore adds little to no overclocking headroom, maybe it's a temp thing or I just have a bum chip . Anyway, doesn't seem like there's an issue. It would be nice if someone wanted to do the vGPU read mod and confirm with a multimeter.

I am having little headroom by upping volts it seems too... . 1140c works great endlessly in games, benches, etc. I am using 1.187v. If I up to even 1.3v I seem unable to reach even 1200 without glotches in the old republic, even tho it games and benches fine in everything else. It does get some errors in occt at 1.281v at 1240 and tons of artifacts in tor only, bf3 and 3dmark11 fine. I did have 570sli before, hmmmm.

Not sure what's up. Would like to!

I cant get 3D11 to run with the same clocks as vantage. Ill mess with it tonight.

To run Vantage it took 1.25v , 3dm11 closes/crashes with the same clocks and voltage.

Is there any difference about clockability or quality between the diferent vendors reference design 7970 Cards ?

Im asking, because here in Germany we have to pay for an Club 3d Card about 450 €, for an XFX Card 520 € and for an Asus Card 550 €.

Which one should i buy ? All Cards have reference design.

I want to reach about 1200 Mhz on core, to have an adequate replacement for my 6970 CF...............

They are all pretty much reference cards (saw 1 card with custom cooler) so should not matter which brand you get. Go for best warranty.

Re-installed 3dm11 and seems ok now.
