So how is this board? I am considering buying it. If I do, I will use it for overclocking/gaming/folding. I know I am better served with other boards, but I absolutely love the color scheme.

Yea then get it, you should be fine. it will do all of those things. Good quality board. Make sure to use BIOS F7 and above.
Is the board capable of handling RAM above 2133 without much issues? I really don't need more 8 GB, and there decent fast kits out there for cheap (at least at the moment). Again, I realize I am better served with a slower kit, but I would like the option available.
Hello,
I hope someone could help me.Maybe one of the user with 6A problem have an idea for me.My systym only runs with default setting. My bios version is now 8fb. I get still 6A boot error. This only happens if i try 2 change the CPU clock ratio.Cant get over 35!!! All other ends into 6A.I tried new set of memory (g-skill z series),still same failure. My system runs at my Mainboard trader without problems after bios update. He gots stable oc to 4,5 ghz with aircooling. At home with watercooling no way??Is it my kind of cpu or the pressure of the cooler?I dont have any idea more.(sry for bad english)
Settings.
UD7-3930K-gskill 4x2gb RipjawsZ-MSI 580GTX TFII-Heatkiller 3.0-enermax rev. 1020w
So I updated to F8G without backing up my BIOS and unlike when I updated from F4 to F7 my raid took a $h1t and was irreparable... Kinda weird that the setup wouldn't carryover. Yet another time I've been all but thrilled with this board. And then I started getting 6F halts...

Hi
If i disable the Turbo and enable Real-Time CPU ratio in OS, my Board go in 6A. All other settings default.
Disable turbo only or only Disable Real-Time CPU Ratio in OS makes no problems. Do i need the Turbo for Realtime Ratio?
Thanks
Oli
edit: BIOS is F8d
edit2:
??
It has nothing to do with turbo. Now my board does not starts with real-time cahnge ratio!?! I load otimized defaults, then I enable realtime cpu configuration and my board goes into 6a ..
Yesterday it worked with real-time .. Very confusing.
I think i have the same problem like Homers.
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...=1#post5029718
With 6 cores, i can not boot over ratio 35. Whith 2 Cores i can nott boot over 39.
Each oc ends with 6a Code.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Has anyone successfully overclocked via bclk and changing strap?
Well i am happy , no very happy with my setup. My 6A problem ended up being memory compatibility issues. I now have Patriot Viper Extreme DDR2000 and all is good. No more 6A errors. My supplier (which knows much more about OC than i do) assisted in setting up my PC.Running @ 4500 mhz and memory @ 2000 mhz. I am so happy. Hope all the others with the dreaded 6A issues gets theirs sorted. On F7 BIOS

Greetings --
I have a very serious question for which I'd like an answer. And before I go any further I want to make it very clear that I am not in any way, shape or form a Troll. Nor am I in any way trying to discredit Gigabyte and their fine products. With that out of the way, here is my question.
Has this board (The Gigabyte X79 UD7) been discontinued? I ask because I was going to purchase the board today and when I went to the Newegg site and then Amazon both sites are currently listing the board as DEACTIVATED.
This is very disheartening for me to say the least. I have gone to a lot of expense and a lot of preparatory work for my new computer build which is to be based around this board, especially the color scheme. I've purchased a boatload of Cougar fans and sleeved the majority of my cables (MDPC) in colors to go with the "Gigabyte Orange" theme. I really, really hope that what I'm seeing on the Newegg and Amazon sites is just a temporary problem that Gigabyte is working to resolve.
So... If there is anyone on this forum from Gigabyte or anyone "in the know" who could answer my question, I sure would appreciate it. Has the board indeed been discontinued? If not, can we expect a re-designed board in the market again any time soon?
Thank you very much for your response and consideration of this matter. I appreciate it very much.

In Germany you can buy it.![]()
To OP, i have heard the same thing here in Greece. Source the board from somewhere else while you still can!![]()
Well here in my country we have stock available of the UD7 and we normally the last place to get.
I used OCZ Platinums at that stage and could not get my mobo to boot . Tried GSkill (cant remember which range sorry) and also no luck. Got it booting with Vengeance DDR 1866 .
Am now running Patriot Viper Extreme DDR2000 without any issues and as said running at 2000 mhz.
Now my system stable and was running AIDA 64 bench and Cinebench together and max temp was 68 degrees. During gaming never goes past 60 degrees with ambient @ 22 degrees
Keep in mind Gigabyte's press release that said they were going to pull stock off the shelves and replace with new stock that had the latest BIOS (to prevent the less experienced users from burning up thier boards). I would think this might be a temporary lull in availability that will corrected very soon.

Thanks to those who have responded. A further check shows that some US retailers are still offering the board for sale, namely - Tiger Direct, CompUSA and Chuck's Audio and Video. However, the fact that the two biggest retailers - Newegg and Amazon are listing the board as "DEACTIVATED" is still a huge concern for me. I wish Gigabyte would clarify exactly what the status of this board is. If indeed it is to be discontintinued then what's the point of buying it? Will it still be supported? I've posed the question to Gigabyte but have not gotten a reply. Playing guessing games with a major component like a motherboard is obviously not a good thing. Oh well. Nothing to do but wait, I guess...
