me also having vdrop. And once the benchmark hang,,,,for the subsequent stable clock speed will be artifacting as well.

I have to restart the system and the artifact went away......me have no idea why the system restart will do away the artifact

Btw, i did not manage to get the 11.12 nor 12.1 preview driver installed for the card....I have to install the driver from the CD Driver for the driver to work...Anybody encounter this issues coz I see quite a few online members manage to use 11.12 or 12.1 driver for 7970

So it seems like 1100 core is easy to do on these cards even on air. I wonder if slapping these cards with vcore and better cooling will help. My currently plan is to Watercool both and do 1100mhz each. I hope in the next week or two when I order they still clock well. My GTX480's clocked like !@#@#%@#$, my 580's which I got about 4-6 weeks after they just came out, were decent. 950mhz with 1.08v on air, Water can do 1010 on first card at 1.16v

Back to AMD/ATI golden days. 3870/4870.

Mine did about 1165 or so at stock volts so 1100 is easy mate.

Nah mine are 8.921.0.0 , where do I get the later ones? Googling now .... Gaul has 8.940 too ....

Edit: Ok installing 8.921.2.0 now.... why does Asus GPU Tweaker allow huge gpu clocks (1800MHz) but only supports 1.250v ??

Edit: Pinto - thanks mate, check it out:

Thats driver update to 8.921.2.0 plus a loud 80% fan run and 1270mhz.

Has anyone (shamino for example) noticed the vdrop/droop)?

How will the Sapphire water coled model reach 1335 factory clock? surely they dont have 1.3v from factory do they?

Sapphire sometimes does that IIRC. There is nothing currently though, those will come down the road. AFAIK only XFX has custom coolers on the release-day cards.

i think you also pay a huge premium for it too. cause they come clocked really high even though you could clock it that high yourself without any worries.
its really only needed if you are really scared about the warranty and taking off your stock heatsink.

That recent leaked document showed a water cooled sapphire card listed with 1335 core clock...... But as you said it will be expensive, I'm going to use my current mcw80 on my 7970, that's why I put if in my loop in the first place and so mar it has migrated across a few vid cards successfully. What are the LN boys using to get more volts? Is there a special version software for this or hard mods?

I haven't tried cat 12.1 yet or those newer drivers, I did initial testing with 8.921.0.0 that comes on the install disk then upgraded to 8.921.2.0 resulting in a nice boost so there is every chance newer drivers will keep improving. If its for gaming then watch for game/version specific issues...

My Sapphire 7970 card is incoming in 10-11 hours :p, what driver am I going to want? Haven't been with an ATI/AMD card for a few now . Also, any news regarding whether the vdrop is real or just mismeasured?

    Will post results later.

Thanks guys! Think the drop is real but here my pow, when i use overdrive for gaming 1125/1575 fan auto the card is full stable for few hours of BF3, when i set those settings with AB to look at the temperature it crash after several minutes... It's not cooling relative because i use a custom fan profile and the worst temperature is 66°c. I think there is something strange about AB voltage regulation or it's above a typical value...

Just so you know guys, I get the same vDROOP on my 580s, except afterburner doesn't seem them but GPU-Z does. Droops quite a bit actually. Anyone want to see if they are getting vdroop with gpu-z as well? Or is it powertune throttling down the cards due to VRM temps? We'll see. If I can do 1100-1200mhz easy with just a tad of extras voltage, I'm sold.

GAHHH, WHEN WILL MY CHECK COME IN!

From my personnal experience, I feel that BF3 doesn't like AB at all but I'm maybe wrong, not 100% sure though.
