    thx honda

anyway, if i managed to do it in 3 or 4 hours everyone can do it.
just need some patience to try those drive strength cause they are so important to get RAM at high frequency.
can't wait to try this little bastard at LN2 with some serious VCORE.
ah, on a sidenote, the board seems to like Micron D9-KPT, i had booted up at 2700 MHZ 9-9-9-27 at the first try with drive strength on auto.
i must find a decent chip to unleash the full power of my RAMs.

ahhhh so drive strength is the secret sauce for 3600mhz

    thanks mafio!

yes, i think probably they are the trick to get such high DRAM frequency.

    my attempt on Crucial Ballixtix Tactical 8GB kit (DDR3 1866 @ 9-9-9 1.5v): DDR3 2133 @ 9-10-9...

Anyone noticed it's harder to get ram (>200MHz) prime stable (blend test) when the cpu clock is above 3.6GHz? I noticed this when i was on Thuban, & now I'm encountering the same thing on FX.

any tips on this issue? D board is loaded with latest official BIOS 1003. appreciate if any of u guys can advise on this.

I don't have that problem myself...I was able to run 2133 on Hypers easily as well in Blend with CPU @ 4.5 GHz on my old CPU.

I haven't tried this one with Hypers yet, maybe there is a large difference in IMC strength between different chips.

thx for d input beep, i noticed this when i try blend test usin 3.8Ghz & 3.6GHz. on 3.8GHz i wasn't able to get it stable even i increase imc volt, vdimm & vcore. then i remember such case when i had d board for quick test while owning a Thuban. I'll do more testing again.

this time at cas7, same settings as previous post, except for primary timings at 7-8-7-22 instead of 8-8-8-24.

    sp 32M - CPU @ 4969 MHz, MCH 3123 MHz, RAM 2270 MHz

performance are the same as 2434 MHz 8-8-8, would be interesting to see what change with higher MCH frequency...too bad my CPU topped out around 3200 MHz 32M stable.
also, seems like putting 1.775 volt in the CPU/NB when tring to get high memory frequency wasn't a smarter choice, now i can't get anymore the RAM up to 2400+ MHz 32M stable lol.
gotta get LN2 as soon as possible before i kill something and also need to get another chip cause i've the feeling this one sucks badly.

edit: @ah_khoo: your problem could be temperature related IMHO.
anyway, i wouldn't bother too much, if you are at air or H2O you could not archieve enough MCH frequency to really see the difference from DRAM at 2133 MHz and just say 2250 MHz.
i would just go for 2133 MHz with tighter timings.

    Interesting.

I'm starting to think I should go with Hyper again on this CPU. My other 8150, the defective one benched 2500 CL7 with Gskill Pi PSC, but this one barely boots right at the 2400 strap and won't boot at 2133 + ref clock = 2400 even CL8.

That CPU also did 2160 Prime95 stable with Hypers, no idea what this one will do.

    nice PSC you got there.
i'm loving this board, it's a beast for RAM clocking, every kind of chip seem to work well on this board.
also the crucial value D9-KPT works well, if the CPU can handle it they will do 3000+ MHz easy.

anyone know how to use setfsb with this board?

why don't you use rc-tweakit via rog connect with a notebook? way better than setfsb, although setfsb is oldschool

Have been using rog connect instead as you don't have to install anything on the bench OS.

uhm, guess i should try that remote overclock thing.
BTW, setfsb IMHO i still the best tool to adjust FSB/BCLK/whatever on the fly, no other software gives you the ability to go just saying 0.2 MHz by 0.2 MHz.
i found it quite usefull especially when playing with high CPU multiplier and 1 MHz of bus gives you 30 MHz of core frequency.

KPT rocks, already did 2870 MHz with a lynfield setup 2 years ago or so...and at that time i was badly CPU limited (BCLK wall).
3000 MHz would be easy even with the RAM air cooled and 2.2 or 2.3 volt.
this WE (friday and saturday) i and my friends will have a small LN2 party, already ordered 80 litres of LN2...i'm so excited to try this little mofo at LN2.

Those results were only on Corsair MGH-E Hyper (my STT didn't like those settings, maybe because of the PCB) and Hynix BFR 4GB density modules...and were done with Phenom II X6.

None of those drive strengths are optimal with Bulldozer + PSC

trying to get 2133 stable. Yesterday i ran prime on it, but later and still they dont want to run 2133. Strange i must overlook something...

got it, i overlooked that on that setting that ran perfect only half the ram was detected. It happened again when i set 2133 @ 1,5v which bootet and loaded into windows just fine what made me wtf really, and i directly went into taskmanager to check ram amount and ofc was only 4 GB.

Anyway, now i have one pair of the same ram, same part no. etc, that runs 2133 cl9 @ 1,5v with absolute ease, and one pair, also same part no. as first ones, that needs 1.6v @ ddr3-2000 which sucks and always fails at better timings/less voltage/higher mhz.

    now testing that better one

    edit: aha they are gooing 7-10-8-27 @ 2133 @ 1.65v.. nice UPDATE: 2166 @ 1,6v.. Cool

last friday and saturday i had a 2 day LN2 trip with the CVF and my FX-4100 crap CPU.
results were not good due to the crappy CPU but at least i had fun pushing the setup at its limit.
i only had time to test max frequency and do some super-pi 32M, then the CPU died.

    SETUP:
    CPU: FX-4100 – vcore 2.05 volt, vmch 1.65 volt
cooling: Guglio's CPU pot rev 2.0
    MB: Crosshair V Formula – bios 1003
    RAM: G.Skill RipjawX 2133C8 – Elpida MNH-E-Hyper – 1.9 volt – red slots
    VGA: nvidia 6200 LE 256 MB PCI-E
HDD: seagate 7200.10 160 GB sata
    PSU: PCP&C 1200
OS: Win XP sp3 & 2k3 server TW

the max frequency i reached was 7013 MHz using 2.05 volt in bios and LLC extreme.
i found no frequency gain using more VCORE, i tried up to 2.15 volt.

    7013.28 MHz (233.78 * 30)

    http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2186451

    32M :: 12.32.938 - FX-4100 @ 6531.1 MHZ, G.Skill @ 2270 MHz 7-8-7-22

super-pi 32M time looks good, the mobo is performing very well even with the first and second DIMM slots completly frozen.
switching from single stage to LN2 doesn't give any gain in MCH frequency...so i didn't bothered to play with RAM clock, i would have got the same 2700 MHz i had on single stage.
in a matter of day i will have an FX-8120, hope it will be better than this - now dead - FX-4100.

How is bios 1003? I'm still running bios 9913, is it worth flashing 1003?

    i didn't tested 9913, so i can't say nothing about it.
anyway 1003 seems very good, if i were you i will give it a try.

    Hi everyone,

I know most here seem to be using FX chips, but has anyone had any luck unlocking a 960T?

My board (with 1003 and 9913 and some others) tells me the CPU is not supported for unlocking. It's a bit frustrating when I hear Sabertooth folks and a friend who got one of the cheap Asus mATX boards and chip at the same time are getting successful unlocks.

Thanks in advance for any insight.
