I dont think theres even a single game out yet that requires me to Upgrade other than BF3.

Civ V maxed out with 4x AA - 60 fps constant
Witcher 2 maxed without ubersampling 4x AA - 40 fps minimums
Shogun 2 with a Vram ini tweak to force ultra high settings with 4x AA - maybe one lag spike every hour.

Everything else is a console port, and the only upcoming games Im looking at playing are Diablo 3 and GW2.

As for morrowind, fully modded out it will run at 10 fps on my system, and 15 fps on SLI GTX 580s

Funny performance with mods. Drivers and patches wont fix that, the game has simply been modded far beyond what its engine was ever capable of.

Raw performance fixes it. And the morrowind engine is very scalable, it's a modified version still running in Oblivion and Skyrim.

Well that sure looks good! But still, you see what I mean right? Something is wrong, modders have tinkered with it beyond recognition and I am fairly sure they lack the tools too optimize the engine for the changes they make.
The work is amazing btw But if you give Skyrim the same amount of nurturing with higher ressed textures it will look far better, and honestly I think it does even without and I have seen a fair share of Morrowind images like that.

Well if these are legit, just going to hold out till something else comes out. Was expecting a launch like the 5870's, loved that day and loved those cards, epic performers for a while.

Those numbers don't really make sense. The difference between 6990 and 6970 is to small. Must be CPU-limited to some extent.
And yes, I have noticed that it says 6990 is faster and not the other way around.

    Wrong.

You can never have enough pixel/texture fillrate. And by AMD its pixel fillrate that's crippled the most.. 29Gpixel/s..

btw; Crysis 1 is pixel fillrate hungry mofo.

Anyway i see 7970 scores ~ 7580 heh not so good imo, like i mentioned it once i can score 7100 gpu score with my 570gtx -_-

at least other stuff looks more promising.

How is pixel fillrate important? You cannot do anything with unlit untextured pixels. Texel fillrate is more important imo. Way more. Why else would the Radeons be so strong in highres?

Those high res benchmarks look like it could handle ubersampled witcher2 1920x1080 playable with one card.
I wonder how the new uArch scales when castrated - if a 7870 could match 6950, withe a lower power consumption, better dx11+ performance and the right price, it's a no-brainer for those looking to upgrade

Explains why Skyrim looks like crap then.

P.S. Why did they compare the 3GB to the 1.5GB 580?

Surely a 3GB 580 would have that gap a lot smaller @ those high resolutions? =/

Too bad it's not a Nvidia reference card.
