Thanks so much for this. The F7 BIOS fixed the C&Q, and CPB issues for me with the FX6100. Alls well now. I'm hoping the new AGESA code will help out the NB a bit.

EDIT: F7 for UD7= EPIC FAIL ON VCORE! Fixed everything else but vdroop is WAY worse. Normal in BIOS(1.30v) is 1.18v in windows and drops down to 1.09v under load. Have to set vcore to 1.45v to get 1.36v in windows, and with vdroop, goes down to 1.29v(stock vcore).

GA-990FXA-D3 Bios F5e , CPU Voltage is very bad.
Bios setting 1.550v but in pc health status and windows show 1.475-1.488v and running linx or prime95 vcore was dropped to 1.425-1.450v

    back to F5c is OK.

Using a 970A-UD3 with bios F5A and the steam problems have been fixed
Board seems overall more stable now. No problems with 8150 at 4.5.

Curious why peeps complain about vdroop? Been out of the loop for a while but I remember a thread in the intel section detailing why vdroop was a good thing.

there are other threads about the ud3, but i think your best bet would be to do a google search on the board and see if the newer bios's are good?

ok back on the topic at hand...wtf! the new f7f for the ud7 has worse vdroop than f6? i have to set the vcore to 1.56 to get 1.46 (8120 @ 4.5)....and then if under load it goes all the way down to 1.33v....wtf! this board is utterly useless?

Reporting in: F6e doesn't suffer from the throttling issue on the UD3 finally. Just setting your frequencies and multipliers in the BIOS is sufficient to make it work as would be predicted. It also fixes the crash-on-launch issue with Saints Row 3.
Particle's First Rule of Online Technical Discussion:
As a thread about any computer related subject has its length approach infinity, the likelihood and inevitability of a poorly constructed AMD vs. Intel fight also exponentially increases.

    Rule 1A:
Likewise, the frequency of a car pseudoanalogy to explain a technical concept increases with thread length. This will make many people chuckle, as computer people are rarely knowledgeable about vehicular mechanics.

    Rule 2:
When confronted with a post that is contrary to what a poster likes, believes, or most often wants to be correct, the poster will pick out only minor details that are largely irrelevant in an attempt to shut out the conflicting idea. The core of the post will be left alone since it isn't easy to contradict what the person is actually saying.

    Rule 2A:
When a poster cannot properly refute a post they do not like (as described above), the poster will most likely invent fictitious counter-points and/or begin to attack the other's credibility in feeble ways that are dramatic but irrelevant. Do not underestimate this tactic, as in the online world this will sway many observers. Do not forget: Correctness is decided only by what is said last, the most loudly, or with greatest repetition.

    Rule 3:
When it comes to computer news, 70% of Internet rumors are outright fabricated, 20% are inaccurate enough to simply be discarded, and about 10% are based in reality. Grains of salt--become familiar with them.

Remember: When debating online, everyone else is ALWAYS wrong if they do not agree with you!

    Random Tip o' the Whatever
You just can't win. If your product offers feature A instead of B, people will moan how A is stupid and it didn't offer B. If your product offers B instead of A, they'll likewise complain and rant about how anyone's retarded cousin could figure out A is what the market wants.

...f7 final version for the ud7 is out as well.......and it is worse than the f7f!!! i have already been in contact with giga customer service, their response was basically too bad and tough luck, "have revision 1.1 out, which addresses these issues, you can purchase one at your local computer store."...wtf. i tried asking for a refund...but that was no go. until the day i die; i will never buy another product from gigabyte, this is unacceptable that a hardware flaw is not being addressed or corrected.

dammit i have an fx cpu that i cannot overclock...i just want to overclock (sniff) .

You can fix the volt drop yourself (a small hardware modification). A swedish guy have fixed his UD7 motherboard. How to do --> http://sinhardware.com/index.php/rev...owall=&start=3
