Yes, I ran both kits with mem test on different machines for 8 hours (while I slept today, heh) without error.

Do you have a recommended starting point?

    I am now using 0901.
I have tried everything from XMP to manually setting up the memory pages. I tried voltages 1.5-1.65. I am not sure I should go any higher?

For me sometimes it wouldn't post and gave some error code but i just thought it was because i had the board overclocked, then i discovered it also did this on default settings. I also had trouble installing or booting Windows on a RAID array and now i think it was the memory. If more than 4 RAM slots are filled then the system becomes unstable.

In the end i got my board running ok with all 8 dimms (32GB) by doing the OPPOSITE of what you normally would do... i tightened the memory timings to 9-11-10-28 and set the memory voltage LOWER to 1.6v. Default auto settings were 11-11-11-28 and 1.67v yet these didn't work. The latest BIOS (0901) dont fix this problem either.

The settings for memory timings and voltage are under the first tab in the BIOS. But try it with less RAM installed first and if it's ok then you might have this same problem...
I got the system to run and install Windows on 4 modules/16GB without issue. But it is when I put the 8 in that I am.

Should I adjust the strap? If so. what should I set it to? Should I be more fine tuning the cpu settings or stick to changing specific items first?
    My newest system:
    Corsair Obsidian 800D
    Corsair hx1050 psu
    Corsair Vengeance 16 Quad Channel CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9 x2 (32GB total)
Corsair Force Series GT 120 GB SSD (CSSD-F120GBGT-BK)
    Corsair H100 Cooler
    Intel 3960X
    eVGA GTX580

    OC settings coming soon.
