Talking First run with Newcastle 3400+ with Stock Mach 1 (home made A64 kit :D )

    Check this out

Today i finished my homemade A64 kit, made with 5mm UVBlue plexiglass. This looks much better then the madshrimps one

And the results are awesome compare to a $100 A64 kit by Nventiv. This cost me around $10,- at most

    Based on this: http://www.madshrimps.be/?action=gethowto&howtoID=41

Here some pics of the mod:

    Polisched evap:

    And the results:

    Vcore: 1.68v-1.72v (EPoX 8KDAJ fluc. a little)

    Pretty cool this first run
    Temps: -25C idle / -18C stressed / evap: -43C

    Playing further ..

Very Nice!!!! I need a higher multi than this 3000+ newcastle so i can use my Good BH5's. I've been wondering how the 3400 newcastles would do.

I max mine out @ 2.85ghz and still benchable.

Do you think the chip has some more in her with some more volts??

10x less the price of having to buy is always nice. What's the max you Cpu volts you can get on the epox board. Mine max's @ 1.81v when set to 1.85v. My temps are staying in line. The newcastle runs a lot cooler than the Clawhammer i have here.

    What's you temps at??

Dont even ask where i've been!!!

It depends on what voltage you are @2.85GHz. What cooling are you using?

My temps are now -1/-2C still priming.
Hows this baby do on a refilled mach 1

    Ted :

I noticed that some stores in germany have dropped the prices for the A64 chips.

    A64 3000+ : 170€
    A64 3200+ : 220€
    A64 3400+ : 300€

Don't know if they changed in the US too. perhaps wanna check it out.
I'm gonna wait a couple more days and prolly get an 3200+ or even a 3400+. We'll see.

I'll be curious if you'll be able to get over 2830-2840MHz stable. I'm having a bit of a problem getting above that to run stable... even with 2.1v. Seems 1.95v gets 2810MHz stable and then the extra .15v doesn't get much more for me. Could be my chip though...

    Good luck.

Thnx i cut it with a dremel (the inside) and a Jig saw (@low speed :P) to cut the plate. Very easy to make.

Ok... that's what I've been getting too. It seems to happen more with my BH-5 sticks than with my AData for some reason too. I still haven't gotten around to really looking into it though. I tried the easy things like adding cooling to the chipset, regs, memory, etc but it doesn't act like a heat related problem.

    At any rate... nice results!

First thing is just take off the original and put some real thermal paste down. I did that and then just added a fan blowing across it. My chipset temperature went from ~70c to ~40c.
