just weird cause i still have a G.skill sniper 2x4gb ddr3 1866 kit that did the timings in my profile fine ran OCCT all day.

maybe my IMC on the 1090t jsut cant go 2000mhz

ill have to look into custom drive strengths
Basically I didn't have enough time to test different levels of stability with drives so I would change one and attempt to boot in to windows at a given frequency that was borderline unstable. If I was able to boot I kept the change, if not I reverted. I'd then up HTT 1 Mhz and try again, etc.

Hypers at 1900 7-7-6 are giving much better copy and write speeds than PSC at 2040 6-10-6, tightening to 6-9-6 hardly helped at all. I'm starting to wonder what the issue is.

As far as chips go with the Mushkins, are they rated 2000 9-11-9? I'd have to guess they are Hynix BFR as that is what is used on most of these high end kits...your snipers probably have the same if they can run 1900 9-10-9.

need some help: i cant find ANY ram on my buldozer setup. they only work @ 1333 mhz. When i change memory voltage- overclocking faild ?! wtf.

now i have on my table some gskill ecos-. F3-12800CL7D-4gbeco - they even are supported by asus but i cant even get them 1334 mhz, on 1333 they work.

edit: OK now i was able to Overclock them... but when i change the Vdimm, it wont boot. Tryed with another set of 1800 mhz gskill, same issues. Can Overclock cpu with def vcore ~4.8ghz, no problems, but cant change ANY of voltages. Wont boot..

i have used allways gigabyte, this asus makes me nuts.,.

A word of warning for everyone using this board: be careful with auto settings, CPU-NB at auto resulted in 1.4V which overvolts to ~1.42-1.43 measured with DMM and depending on CPU/NB Load Line Calibration it can go up even more under load. I think auto sets it to extreme which will result in approx 1.46V!

I noticed this too late and now i need at least 1.2506V for my daily 2588MHz which results in 1.29V load, measured by DMM.

Also Dram voltage overvolts quite a bit, 1.625V set in UEFI results in 1.65V measured at the board by DMM. I think overvolting the ram is an Asus thing, i found this on more of their boards.

All this with bios 9913 i might add, others bios' may be different though.

    Then the software is accurate.
1.368v set CPUNB =1.39v load on High LLC
DRAM @ 1.681v = 1.706 idle and 1.712 load with my board in AI Suite

My DMM's batteries are dead, need to go out and buy a 9v cell.

Yup, software reading is inaccurate. Nothing beats measuring with DMM.

    *cough*
Numbers I posted above are software readings.

I need to buy a new battery for my DMM to confirm, but the sofware readings show the same overvolt that your DMM does.

The values i read out in AI suite, TurboV EVO, tab sensor are lower than what my DMM tells me.

For example, Dram set to 1.625V is 1.634V according AI suite and 1.65V according DMM.

CPU-NB set to 1.25V is 1.25V according AI suite and 1.26-1.27V according DMM. (idle value)

Software shows some overvoltage but not the exact value i seems. I'd rather stick to DMM measurements for reliablity.

Probably due to different bios i guess.

RAM overvoltage is "safe", because most of kits can working OK with 1.75V 24/7 and ussually we have in BIOS 1.6-1.7V

Your readings seem a lot more realistic than mine:

    Must be bios i think.

So is this board really only for a FX series chip due to the bios' being tuned for FX or will I get good results from either a 1055T or 1090T?

Not totally sure about efficiency in other programs but SuperPi 32M, but I lost ~10 seconds going to this board.

Right. Not only for AM3+ but for AM3 as well.

Right now with my 1100T I am running at 4ghz/200mhz bus/2.8ghz nb.
My bios voltages w/ high llc are: cpu-1.48125, cpu/nb: 1.30, & nb ht: 1.28125 (still tweaking if you have hints).
    8gb of memory is set at 1.65v for ddr3-1600 @ 7-8-7-24-32-1T.
Folding@home 24/7 and my current coretemp is 42-43C.
It's a cool overclocking evening in south Louisiana gentlemen.

If I was going to order a Formula V from the egg to clock a BD chip right now, which memory (4 x 4GB) would you fellas recommend?

I don't *have* to have 16gb, I would only need that much some of the time. Just wanted to see what kind of recommendations came back. Some times tracking down memory is rough, I search and find older suggestions for stuff you can't buy anymore.

"Older" stuff always seems best for some reason. Once a certain chip is no longer produced it becomes populair. Look at Winbond BH-5, Micron D9 GMH/GKX, D9 GTS/R, Elipda Hyper, etc.and you know what i mean.

i couldn't resist, i've picked up a CVF to replace the crappy MSI 990FX.
today i had the time to do some tests along with a set of G.Skill 2133c8 and an FX-4100.

CPU: FX-4100 (later i will write down the batch) - vcore 1.5 volt, vmch 1.65 volt
cooling: single stage on CPU, everything else air cooled
    MB: Crosshair V Formula - bios 1003
    RAM: G.Skill RipjawX 2133C8 - Elpida MNH-E-Hyper - 1.9 volt - red slots
    VGA: nvidia 6200 LE 256 MB PCI-E
    HDD: seagate 7200.10 160 GB
    PSU: PCP&C 1200

didn't bother to install a clean tweaked version of windows, just plugged in the same vanilla OS i was using with the MSI motherboards.
sp 32m time could be much much better.

    sp 32M - CPU @ 4959 MHz, MCH 3130 MHz, RAM 2434 MHz

    timings: 8-8-8-24-6-6-6-8-12-300-44
    command rate: 1t
    CKE drive strength: 1,25x
    CS/ODT drive strength: 1x
    ADDR/CMD drive strength: 1x
    MEMCLK drive strength: 1,5x
    Data drive strength: 1x
    DQS drive strength: 0,75x

before someone ask it, no, i did not tried lower vdimm, just setted 1.9 volt and leave it as is for the whole session.
MCH looks quite crappy, memory frequency topped out around 2650/2700 MHz and sp 32M can be done up to 2435/2440 MHz.
as for the core frequency i managed to boot at 5050 MHz on air and 5800 MHz on single stage, but Vcore was, in both case, way too high...1.65 at air and 1.8 at SS...
i've the feeling that those FX-4100 are all much worse than FX-8120 and 8150, guess next time i should get one of those 2 4c/8t CPUs instead of another 2c/4t FX-4100.
anyway, i'm really satisfied with that mobo, it's a big step head the MSI board I had and most importantly have a proper Elpida Hyper support.
    nice one ASUS.
