Never, under any circumstances should you be naked near fishing tackle.
I haven't experienced problems with FW updates with Steelseries XAI or Sensei set to 1000hz polling rate either. Maybe because I ran them on a different USB hub from the AE5?
I haven't ever been able to update FW of my Aquaero LT when usb is connected to my main systems (Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD4 board) usb header and I don't even have any kind of gaming mouses etc. But when I connect usb cable to my other system ( Asus X58 Sabertooth) firmware update works just fine.
I have a question to owners AE5 and 2xDCC 12w (+ few 120mm fans).
Do AE5 work properly with optional Heatsink( 40mm fan on it).
And i can't get find nowhere data, how much power can get from AE5 (per channel/total) with:
1.optional heatsink( 40mm fan)
2. optional waterblock ?
I think I have seen 1.65 A / channel with waterblock mentioned as max rating, but all channels combined must still be under 60 W. I have never seen the numbers for heatsink cooling.
I am currently running Aquasuite 2012 B9 on my AE5 XT with the 1018 Firmware and I cannot get my PA2 Ultras to show up in the suite.
I have the PAs daisy chained off each other and the first PA2 hooked up through the Aquabus 2 channel on the AE5 XT. The 4 pin molex power connectors are also plugged in and my DDC pumps are running but there is no panel in the suite for them.
Any ideas?

not sure if this will actually answer your question but it'll lead you in the right direction..
I recall reading that the firmware on the PA itself has to be 1003 or something for it to work with the XT, also if you are using more then one PA, you need to plug it in one at a time and change it's ID (50-55), as default all their ID are the same..

Hey guys, one more question about AE5.
What are benefits aquero xt in front of aquero pro? Only equipment (heatsink+ir remote) and touch screеn ? Is this necessary option on this device ?
Can some one tell, me please, do i really need water block for 2xdcc (12w) or simple heatsink be ok?
And can i get control on 11 pwm fans from AE5 (simply connect power wires too PSU and tacho+pwm control wires in AE5) will it work fine?

Ok look like I am going to drop $400 on the parts needed to run my system.
17 fans
D5 pumps x2
Flow meter
Temp meter x2
One aquaero 5 pro
Power adjust x2
Fan splitters
To run the d5 pumps are there any additional hard ware needed.
I also read there was some hardware conflicts if you were running certain items. Just wanted to know if there was any know conflicts with the G19 and G9x
Last any suggestions on install/setup to make things run smooth from the beginning. As there is no manual or anything I have found to read to get a head start.
hi ohms, just wondering if you got your PA's updated and running..? I have my XT and 6x PA's right now running off a test bed just to make sure they work, my next plan is to pull my cpu loop apart and add all this stuff inside.. just wondering if I need to plug them direct into the MB USB without the XT or? Thanks
If you have the tools to modify the D5 molex to a standard 3 pin header, then it's all good.. if you are getting the D5 with a tach sensor, you can route that too on the Aquaero..
I read the same thing regarding the G19 (I'm using G19, G500 mouse and Cycorg Command Unit), all of which uses a high polling rate.. I should have my XT installed and running in the next day or so, need to do a leak test again, will let you know if I run into any issues.. In the latest firmware release, users has reported the polling issue has been resolved (keeping my fingers crossed)...
Yes, The PA comes with a german only manual and it took me forever to figure it out.. If you are getting the front panel also, DONT FORGET to use washers on all but the 2x holes on the furthest opposite ends of each other, the holes that attaches the side brackets only.. the rest requires 2x washers to even out.. as for connections, The top furthest right is for flow sensor, the bottom one next to the standard molex is the fan power out, the rest is self explanatory..
You might have to update the PA's first to get them to work with your Aquaero, please read the past few post as ohms and I was just talking about it..
As for the Aquaero, I got the XT version but it's the same as yours plus a few extra gadgets, the manual is in both english and german, the unit itself has a sticker on it with everything labeled and telling you what plugs into what, so it should be pretty straight forward..
You are going to need a water block if you are attaching the pump to that Aquaero, I'm running fans only right now for testing and the PA's and Aquaero itself is pretty warm to the touch.. The lower the voltage these units uses, the warmer it gets is what I understand /shrugs.. I can't figure this one out either but that's what everyone is saying..
ummm that all I can figure out for now..

Hi,
I do have the D5 with the speed contoller on it alone with the Tach sensor. (Koolance). So you are saying I will have to mold the connection on the D5 or will I be able to use as is, cause I prefer not to mod.
nope, dont do anything with the D5, cut and strip a bit of wire on the molex, and crimp pins on to them that will fit the existing 3pin header, 2 of them should be empty.. If you don't have a crimp, a pair of needle nose pliers will work but it just wont look as good..
If you don't have pins or crimp, you are going to have to go ghetto.. strip wires.. find a unused 3 pin fan and strip it at the center, twist and electric tape.. lol dont do this, it looks ugly as frack, You have nice gear, buy your self a crimp from mdpc.com, you wont regret it, best investment ever, every modders tool, You aint a modder unless you have a decent crimp..
Make sure you follow which lead goes to which pin.. GND (black), +12V (yellow), RPM (whatever your rpm cable color is).. mixing these could lead you to a dead pump, dead AQ5 or both..

Man, this is a lot to get this to work. I have to buy the parts then buy more parts to get it to work. Come on man, I have decided to wait. Thanks for answering all of my questions guys.
If you're hesitant to make one yourself, you can also buy a female 4 pin molex to 3-pin fan connector lead. No soldering or whatever required. It just looks less elegant.
It will work out the box, you would still have to modify the 4 pin molex head, as the PA and AQ5 both only have 3 pin power outputs, you can attach the pump rpm sensor to the rpm input on either the AQ or PA..
It's not as complicated as you think, water cooling requires work, unless you buy a H70|100 or a Omni for 580..
As cx-ray said, you can go that route, but as with most water cooling enthusiast, they want everything to look perfect, which requires a lot of work.. I have seen rigs that has a spaghetti bowl of wiring and tubing everywhere, this works for them.. If you are happy with this, please go ahead, it's your rig.. I was just offering advice on how to make the best airflow, minimal cabling and best "bling" factor.
on a side note, got some questions of my own.. I posted this on AC forums also but seems they are slow on replies..
Just got it in, running tests on bench to make sure everything is working... Love this thing, and I just begin to "touch the tip of the ice berg"...
a few questions..
Can I plug fans into the "tacho signal" and "flow sensors" of the PA2? or I will need to use a 1 to 3 splitter on the "power output" ?
Will the unit auto adjust / detect what is connected?
Any difference in how I daisy chain my PA2? I have 6 of these..
ie; on Aquabus 1 and 2..
XT to PA2 bus 1, PA bus 2 to
next PA2 bus 1... repeat
or it does not matter?
I also purchased the RGB illumination module for aquaero 5, what exactly is this? I thought it was just for bling but apparently there is a usage for this..
If I don't plug anything into the XT, it lights up red, but with stuff attached, it lights blue.. I have it plugged into the RGB-LED on the XT.
according to the translated spec on the webshop..
Can someone give me the technical spec of the AQ5 and PA2 ? I need to know what's the max temp before it switches to safe mode, what is the max watt or amp?Full-color lighting module for connection to the LED output of the fifth aquaero . The illumination module consists of an ultra-bright RGB LED in which all three primary colors can be controlled separately
A plexiglass rotating part for mounting in aquatube needs may be ordered separately (not included). Compatible with: aquaero 5 XT (Art. 53 089) aquaero 5 PRO (Art. 53 090) aquaero 5 LT (Art. xxxxx)
Thanks..
oh nevermind, got a reply from shoggy, posting on here for reference or google food..
There is only one fan header on the poweradjust 2. All other connectors are for sensors etc. like you already mentioned yourself. If you want to connect several fans you will have to us y-adapters.
It does not matter how you connect them via aquabus. Since this is a real bus system they must be only connected in some way. If from one device to the other or by using y-adapters does not matter.
The RGB illumination LED can be connected to the aquaero. Its function depends on your configuration. You can use it as indicator for temperatures or optical signal for alarms etc..

You are so right, I will just have to do a little more research and get what I need and do it right. I will be back when I get everything I need.
Hey guys, I tried upgrading the firmware for my Aquero 5 PRO but it's not working. The moment I click on "Update firmware now", it just waits and never gets updated. It's currently on firmware 1010 and I'm on ASUS R3E. Any ideas how we can update the firmware manually perhaps?
