Got my 8150 last week. Have been playing little with it. Stable in prime with cold water 4.9G /1.488v. Quick test with CINEBENCH

@Flank3r, i didn't watch the temps during benches, all i cared about was for it to finish the benchmark. Ambient was quite low, around 10ºC i guess. Hardware Monitor showed 0ºC idle at times.

@Lightman, 9 points is way out of our league with watercooling (i think) but of course we'll keep pushing.

@charged, don't expect too much out of the C4F, the bios for BD is pretty immature and buggy. What board are you running now?

I like the fact that it's a 1.5v kit and other than freq the timing offset looks very similar to the kit I have

I was pretty satisfied with my result untill a person called krjalone came along and crushed not only my score but also my back-up score. (did i have one? )

If his run is done on a conventional watercooling set-up (with the aid of mother nature of course) it is mighty impressive! If he made use of a chiller it's still very good but a little less impressive in my book.

The C4F is a pretty good and solid board but this latest bios makes it feel buggy. It still clocks fine it seems but maybe i will get me a CVF though, still undecided.

Beep, i don't know if this kit can pull that off but i might give it a go. I've ordered som ram with PSC chips but appearently they were not in stock and i have to wait a bit longer. Now i saw Hynix ram clocking pretty darn good too. Wondering if that will be the new "super ram".

Water was 7 celsius in cinebench. My radiators are in garage and its getting finaly cold here. 3 celsius outside now. I have a crappy chiller but water goes only 5 celsius. I hope I can finish my better chiller next week

My kit is a tad better than yours and does Cinebench at 2000 7-7-6 on Thuban with only 1.64v, you should be able to do 2000-2050 7-7-7 easy under 1.7v
I have some PSC up for sale, though they aren't that expensive or clock well... :d

Hynix gives you 8GB, however above 2000 you are looking at CL9.

Here is my max Cinebench so far with my Thuban:
That is 1.64v load.
Core 2 (the one that does 4.5 Ghz 32M runs at 1.6v...which is pretty poor in itself) does 4400 in Cinebench, however it doesnt help the score when the benchmark waits on other cores to finish.

You almost make me want to give up , of course I just can't yet...

It's still way too warm here, almost 14c @ midnight. Not sure I can beat that 8.65, but don't consider yourself off the hook yet.

It depends on what you call a chiller.
I saw the low temps, I just don't consider using outside air a chiller. And he does live in Finland.

As for those 2000 9-11-9 Mushkins, I looked at those too...
They look decent, but wuttz over @ AMDZone has a set and hasn't gotten really good results with them
(It could be his mobo though), we'll see when he gets his new board.

I liked the kit I linked because of the 1.5v rating... I've had good luck with my current lovo kit so thats what drew me to it.

I'm pretty close to ordering them (just a few more beers ) and I'll let you folks know what they do (evil grin)...

Don't really know why, I'd just like to have a decent performing 8gb kit, and mem is fairly cheap in the big scheme of things.

My old Corsair Hyper kit doesn't seem too bad. After Beep advised to try 2000 7-7-7 i gave that a spin and it seemed to be able to do it without breaking a sweat:

Only thing required was to raise Tref from 110 to 160ns.

Yeah, I have some Corsair GT 2000 CL8's Zeus...

I'm not really good at ram clocking though. I tried these on the FX and they were just as annoying as they were on Thuban.
I never tried loosening Tref though. The Mushkin PSC's are just so much easier to work with...

I was almost ready to order the kit I mentioned so I'd have them for the weekend!
Maybe I need to hold off and give the Hypers one more chance...

My hyper sticks didn't need higher tref, I actually lowered it to 90ns as I always do. But haven't tested the performance impact of it on BD, so perhaps its unnecessary. But they are pretty iffy with sub timings. They need to be adjusted when running lower mem ratios with high ht ref. For auto 2000 they where pretty good for stability. But could be tightened a notch or two and still keep stability.

Edit: I see you are running 1.65v, I must use +1.72v to run 2000 7-7-7 90ns
