Hi Fellas,
Was wondering if I can get a little help hitting 5Ghz on my 2600K?
I got her running happy at 4.8Ghz right now, though best I can get out of my memory is 1867Mhz, can't get 2133.. i have tried and tried.
This is the memory I run - G.SKILL Ripjaws X 8GB DDR3 2133 F3-17000CL9D-8GBXLD 1.65V 9-11-9-28.
I think maybe because it is 1.65v I cannot hit 2133???
SO this is me at 4.8Ghz
1.36 Vcore in Bios with LLC10.
I want to hit 5Ghz plz. I have tried vcore 1.40 in bios with LLC 10, but no go.
Could you guys maybe share your setting or ideas as to what I can try to hit the magic 5Ghz plz?
Thanks!!!

I hear ya man. I have been following this thread since january and still I have struggled with my ud7. I really wished this thread hadn't died out. I would like to see more settings posted of people with there 24/7 clocks. Especially ones running 4x4gb dimms.
My lga2011 purchase next year is going to be an assus for sure. I do realize I don't have a ruby chip, though I don't have a ruby board in this one either. If I had it to do over I would have just kept my 1155 asus ws supercomputer with my old 875k. This is the most unstable board I have ever encountered, and have been overclocking since 486's.
In my case, I hit 5 and managed to run benches. I'm just looking to run 4.7 or maybe 4.8 24/7. But even 4.6 was a struggle until I loosened my timings on my ram, which I wasn't happy about at all. My best suggestion for you to hit 5ghz is to do that as well. Be warned, you will need a lot more than 1.36 vcore even with that crazy lvl 10 llc which I wouldn't even touch with a 10 foot barge pole. I would try 1.45 with a level 7 to start and slowly move up till you can bench.

I'm glad to hear I am not the only one. I switched from ASUS back to gigbyte because I was having major issues with asus and sata 3. Gigabyte boards always treated me well, but this one... Now I am getting BSOD 124, and that is after 18hr prime run confirmed stable. 50 passes of LynX and few runs of OCCT, I don't freakin get it.
What's even worse the board sometimes will shut down right after the boot, only to boot normally on the second try. Maybe I have a bad board... Maybe it's maybelline.
I am thinking about just tossing this one and going to EVGA or asus again. Who knows.
What timing are you running on your mem now?

Currently running 10-11-11-28 @2133 though on 4x4gb dimms. These 1155 sandy's have a little trouble with high speeds at 16gb and high cpu speeds I've read and now have seen first hand. It's best to run 2x dimms, preferably 4gb or less size as the high density 8gb modules people have said also experience slight setbacks in overall oc on the proc.
Also, I had an issue passing burntest and prime then randomly x124ing as well. I discovered I needed a more recent prime95 version to better trigger the bsods on sandy. Here's the link http://majorgeeks.com/Prime95_d4363.html
I hope I've helped your cause at least a little bit. Maybe the karma can come back around to me!Good luck!

Hey man I am sure it will!
I got the latest version from what I can tell... I could never come close to passing prime @2133, though that is what my memory is rated at.
Supposedly 2133 9-11-9-28 @ 1.65v. I could not make that happen even when I wasn't overclocked. I am running 2 dimms only.
There is gotta be a little fine tune setting we are missing for stability. I am almost thinking about leaving everything except mem and vcore on auto and trying it again.
But I also think I am gonna RMA my board. Today when I tried to clear csmos it boot looped. Something is up with that thing and I am not a big fan of that.
I should have known better when I saw exchange only policy on it, no returns. Freakin figures.
I will let you know what I can come up with after I run the benches. I think 1.36 vcore with LLC 10 is a bit ridiculous for 4.8Ghz. I see people all over the place freakin hittin the same speeds or higher with 1.35 LLC2 or LLC7. I can't even post to windows @ LLC7.
I'm gonna check http://www.overclock.net/intel-mothe...-club-129.html
they are more responsive to those matters.

It does depend on the chip. The variations are a lot more separate than they were on previous cpus. I've seen people get 4.8 stable with 1.34 others 1.44. I'll bet I could crank my vcore to 1.44 and get it stable but I'm on air and won't accept those temps as I'm running boinc a lot.
From what you said I'm going to downclock my ram to 1866 and run a clock 9 variation I think. It'll have to do until quad channel. Curious to see how yours turns out. I've had the boot loops as well. Last few days I've again had an issue with cold booting after coming home from work. Crashes on win7 boot. only 0xD1. I've read it could be qpi or vssa or pch.
Keep me posted on what you discover?
Hi! I'm back with Intel, trying to OC an 2600K. I think I got a weak CPU, or I'm doing something REALLY wrong. Right now I'm at 4500Mhz, but it needs ~1.39V to be stable at Linx. I've tried 4600Mhz, but 1.42V is not enough.
I flashed F6C BIOS (GA-Z68XP-UD4), enabled the CPU PLL Overvoltage, and testing LLC in 4 and 5 (5 with 1.365v = ~1.38v full load and seems to be stable for 4.5Ghz)
Any ideas, suggestions, guides to get this thing to at least 4.8Ghz? Or I'm stuck with a really bad CPU?
Thanks!

youll need more voltage. Have you disabled all power saving options?
Yep, everything is disabled. I allways get the 101 BSoD, which translates to not enough vCore...
Anyway, I've tried 1.45v at 4600Mhz and got an error in Linx, also Prime is unstable. I have a Costa Rica C batch, I read somewhere that they were good, but it seems I got the worst 2600K ever![]()

For 4.6 GHz go with 1.46+ and try.
For 4.8GHz,
depend of you CPU,try with Vcore 1.48~1.50V.
Btw,
did you try how far can you go all on AUTO,increasing only multi?
What about memory setting?

Isnt 1.46v too much for 4.6? I dont mind going up to 1.5v if it hits something like 4.9 or 5.0 but for 4.6 is a crap :-(
On auto 4.5ghz is an instant failure with prime. Voltage is set at 1.360v and the vdrop kills it.

That's what I did. 4500Mhz on Auto sets the vCore to 1.360v. Had to change LLC to 5 to get it stable (1.38v with LLC5, without LLC it would fail because the vCore dropped to 1.316v). It's stable with that config, but 4600Mhz seems to be impossible. Maybe with 1.5v, but going from 4500/1380mV to 4600/1500mV is a crap.
I don't overclock an Intel CPU since Q6600, so I supposed it was me not knowing what to configure. But the BSoD is allways 101, and the solution seems to be more voltage. I thought maybe I needed more voltage somewhere else...
