    hi

my Infinity probably wont make it back here for another couple of weeks, but i will try the voltage one. i guess the L12 wont make any difference on it though.

i believe the warped sockets also contribute to cold boot due to poor soldering connections to the pcb.

this is my second Infinity, the first developed bad cold boot until it died, and the RMA replacement board had a nasty socket warpage that kept it from ever being installed...it went straight back to the DFI.

But no matter how you slice it, the Infinity was never as stable as the NF7-S v2.0 that I had before the DFI, and have gone back to again.

I just did the L12 mod to my 2500+ XP-M. It still booted up at 6x100 like it normally does, but I am now testing 225MHz FSB, where before my CPU didn't like going above 217MHz!

EDIT: Running at 230MHz. Been stable all day so far. Doesn't like 235, though.

RAM should still have headroom, so I think I will do a VDD mod tomorrow if I have time..... Mobo wouldn't even do 235 at 3-3-2-9 and 2.94V (1.7 VDD of course). I'd like to see 240-245 at 2.94V 3-2-2-X or 2.5-2-3-X. I'll report back later. Until then, L12 mod pwnz j00!

Is there a difference between the 166Mhz and 200Mhz mod ? I mean difference in performance?
And does the voltage mod also apply on Tbreds ?

I did the L12 mod in my Mobile and got my FSB in 245 stable. Before mod maximum was only 219...

Is that vmod to 1.775V helping to go over 250 in a NF7-S???

    No way...

It only is to default the mobiles vcore to 1.775V instead of its original value. Helps boot probs.

    I did the 200mhz mod, but I'm stuck ~220-225

When I did it before I was limited by my vdimm, but I went from 210fsb to 218fsb.

Now I got 3.3vdimm with bh5 and I'm hitting the wall.
Anyone experienced crap results with the 200mhz mod? 166 mod better?

btw, the way I did it was with a wire strand going from ah28 to ah30 in the socket.

Sorry for my ignorance on this mod, but I coulndt seem to find the information i am needing by reading through this forum. So ill ask my question..

I just got my NF7-s Rev2 and i have my xp2600m at 2.8ghz right now. At the moment i have it at 200fsb (due to ram that im replacing when i get my xms back from RMA). Im running the D26 BLACK-MANTARAY L12 bios. My question is, what do i need to do to do the l12 mod (and is this bios have the l12 mod it in somehow). I really want to hit the ultra high fsbs, and it seems t his mod is the way to do it. As far as multipliers go i have atleast to 14 becuase thats what im running at now.

Just need the info on how to mod this puppy so i can get extreme fsbs. If i dont have to rip out the cpu and start painting like picasso (conductive paint if u didnt get the joke) all the better.

Thanks to whomever helps me in advance and sorry if im repeating a question which im sure i am.

it doesn't change what it posts at, just what romsip tables in the bios it uses.

i don't believe so because the whole point in L12 modding is so the bios uses a certain romsip table. So whether done by hardware or bios modded, you get the same end result. I'm not 100% sure that's how it is, but pretty sure. I would try an L12 bios first and see if that helps.

hey guys i have an athlon xp-m 2600+ in a creaky old msi k7t-turbo2 which runs sdram. currently i have a 512mb of kingston value ram (pc133).
uh.. would the l12 mod work with this motherboard? i've got a lot of bridge-gap closer stuff and conductive grease from my athlonxp unlocking kit (rip paly 1800+).
what would happen, would the ram be forced to run at 166MHz if i did the 166 mod, or 200MHz?
right now i'm annoyingly underclocked at 1.8xghz (145x12) because i can't post or get into windows with a higher multi. are mobile chip multipliers range-limited?

    No, the multiplier aren't limited...

I cannot comment on the board's abilities though

The only way to find out if it works is to TRY!!!

The cpu supports the whole range of multis as long as the board itself supports it, too.

KX18D Pro II Plus L12 mod gave me a few more FSB (like 3 LOL), but my ram was probably crapping out anyways...235 before L12, 238 after L12....
