Plus the airflow isn't disturbed as the H100 sucks out hot air (way Corsair advises you to install it) Versus the H80, which for maximum performance needs to suck in ambient air ( otherwise you have a 2-3 °C performance loss ) and dumps the heat into the case...

So IF the OP wants to go for a Hydro, it's best to go straight for the high end model iso a slightly cheaper and lower performing / specced model...

    For the PSU Skrips, I'm running an 850TX with a 990X at 4.3Ghz ( to remain at sub 1.3Vcore ) and 2 x 580s with no worries...

But was gaming your main priority ? or do your programs also render on the GPU ?
No, gaming is not my main priority. Actually i have no main priority. I am going to use it for a little bit of everything, from 2D photochop to 3D gaming. And yes, many redning programs support GPU rendering, and some even support multi GPU rendering. I was just bringing up the PSU because I have an 850w psu in my old box, but that was powering old 8800 gtx cards. I just thought that since the new cards draw so much more power maybe 850 wasnt enough in case i decide to snag another card 6 months from now or whatever.

As for the hydro cooling, yeah its not needed, but i always try to keep my parts as cool as possible no matter what. And since i live in AZ we are used to seeing 115 degree summers, at which point its hard to keep room ambient temps below 80 if you are lucky.

For right now i think my specs are solid, especially based on everyones input. The H100 will make a nice addition, but i am still worried about losing thetop 200cm fan. But if corsairs says that the best way to do it, then its the best way!

Thanks all for the advice, i will post back here if/when i pull the trigger

Keep in mind that with the Hydro and any other watercooling that the VRMs don't get much airflow... it might be a good idea to put something like an Antec spotcool at the VRMs

Good luck with ya build, plz come back with pics etc...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Don't get the Corsair Vengeance, pile of dren. Opt for the most excellent G.Skill F3-12800CL7D-8GBXH instead.

Can a 580GTX with 3 GB of RAM on it use that amount well? Except in the range of over 1920x1080 resolutions where you can get a few frames in games... Not sure, but think you can save few bucks there... Though must admit I didn't read any reviews but general "rule" usually says that extra RAM is just for looks and a higher price.

The extra memory helps with large textures and ultra high resolutions, although effectively you can get the same performance by overclocking the memory on a standard 580. I'm still plodding along with a heavily OCd GTX460 1GB and yes, it does play everything I throw at it with max details so until the 600 series at least I'm going to stick with it. Just sucks my other 460 is a bum OCer otherwise I would probably SLI them.

Well, getting the 3Gb model is for future proofing...sort of. I plan on getting into multi monitor, plus the whole thing with my 3D rendering is key as well. For GPU accelerated rendering engines the extra RAM + the 580s CUDA cores will help immensely with that. Yeah, game performance isnt helped much with that extra ram, but everything else i do will be.

    I have an i5 2500k @ 4.3 and under load the cpu temps average 40*C with a Coolermaster Hyper 212+ (aircooling). I doubt you'll need much more to run an i7 2600k @ 4.5.

I also have an 8GB set of Corsair Vengence ddr3-1600 which is way better than G.Skill F3-12800CL7D-8GBXH btw. Runs at lower latency and lower voltage ftw.

Ah, that explains it! Thought you're getting it just for gaming and didn't want you spend some extra cash.

Lol, nope! This is going to be a general entertainment machine. All things media. Thats why im still debating between 8 and 16GB or ram. Not sure my workload needs 16GB, but the thought is still there that it might be worth it later on.

This is utter nonsence. Look around the forums and at reviews skrips, you will see the G.Skill F3-12800CL7D-8GBXH kit utterly outperforms in every regard the Vengeance memory.

Ok fellas, im thinking about pulling the trigger on this new box over the weekend. But here is the deal: im still on the fence about how much ram to get. 8GB should be ok, but for rendering and modeling in 3D i cant help but think 16 would be better. Here is the short list of other kits i am looking at:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231480
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231429
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231478

All three are similar to the 8GB i mentioned earlier, but they are all cheaper than the 8GB kit. Would timings effect that cost that much? The 8GB kit is cas 7, none of the 16Gb kits are below 9. However, two of them are lower voltage ratings. Quite a bit lower actually: 1.65v VS 1.35V.

So, how about it? Lower amount of ram but with better timings, or more ram with worse timings, but way better voltage ratings? HELP! i dont know what to do....

And for the record, here is the 8GB i had previously decided on:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231431

All 4 kits are G.Skill, btw.

the Vengence kits are fine if you are not going to oc as they leave very little headroom, Ket is right the GSkill kit is a much better buy (if you plan to oc)

I think the GSkill's are a better choice, though not sure can those be set at lower timings since I never tinker with memory too much. There is a thread about GSkill at XS, check it out, or ask ppl there.

Ok, but what about those kits i asked about a couple posts up? I want to know if any of those 16GB kits are worth it?
