Maybe AMD asked them to remove the listings/pre orders?

Ahh, ok. I just thought you said "Because yesterday it was scheduled to be available early next month", meaning shopbilt has rescheduled AMD's dates somehow...

What are you talking about?? Interlagos launch has been postponed from Q3 to Q4 and this has been known for a while now. There are no *new* delays or anything like that. And now we know why it was delayed to Q4 and why Zambezi was pushed back too. It's because of supply issues on GloFo's side and not because of design flaw in Bulldozer.

informal, don't get upset Apparently some people here don't read the news too often.
Some people though a week ago that Interlagos was gonna be released end of September and some people only now find out that BD was delayed
jeanjean15: http://blogs.amd.com/work/2011/09/07...-of-a-new-era/ it's dated September 7, so you are nearly one month late with this 'I know why'

This article is about Llano, they was expect a revenue increase of 10% due to them, but basically they have got some problem for supply enough Llano due to bad GF yield, so the revenue increase is 6% instead of 10.....

Where are yoou seeing Interlagos in this article ?

The company blamed the disappointing preliminary results to a manufacturing problem at its German facility, which resulted in a weaker-than-anticipated supply of its Llano chips and other products. AMD also said that shipments of its next-generation server processor “Interlagos” were delayed, impacting gross margin.

    I KNOW THE SOLUTION.

All amd has to do is provide a free 6 pack of guiness to all customers legally of drinking age. I know I certainly would make the switch if they did that :p

Yea I'm in the same boat, just holding off to see if BD is a worthy upgrade or not. I used to upgrade like once in a year or so, now it's been like 2 years since the last time. :P If BD doesn't overclock or perform good enough I'll most likely hold off for Ivy though, Sandy-E doesn't look that interesting IMO.

    Good sir,
All real men should drink guinness. I attribute all my success as an engineer to the facts that I squat ass to grass and drink guinness haha.

But seriously AMD should just consider doing something along these lines as an apology to the customers for all the delays. I fear that at this rate Ivy Bridge will actually appear in mass volume before BD

AMD's execution and launch of BD and Interlagos is beyond a joke, and the whole debacle has cost them significant reputation in the eyes of the IT world. Intel is arrogant, often going out of their way to screw the industry and users. But at least they have the ability to execute a product and can produce a reliable product that performs well. If AMD thinks that their current strategy is a viable long term approach, I feel very sorry for them and those who hold their stock.

As far as I'm concerned, they can continue to delay BD and Interlagos into next year...they're both so late as it is, they're largely irrelevant. Sandy Bridge-EP will more than compete with BD and Intel has the flexibility to set their prices to ensure that it's competitive in that arena as well. Romley-EP 4S will nullify any reason to buy Interlagos, since the gap between Interlagos' very late launch and Romley-EP 4S launch is now very small. AMD's manufacturing issues pretty much ensures a very limited supply of both BD and Interlagos, making the inevitable paper launch pointless.

AMD can now wallow in the pit of crap they've created for themselves by being over two years late with BD and repeatedly delaying Interlagos. They have no credibility in my eyes and are well on the way to join other CPU makers that have fallen by the wayside. Their incredibly tight lipped attitude regarding BD and Interlagos is highly annoying and gives users no reason to continue to endlessly wait. We do appreciate a bone once in a while, and people like JF-AMD seem to revel in the fact that they know something we don't. It makes them feel important. This is in spite of the fact that this attitude alienates and infuriates those people who have supported them.

I hope AMD enjoys the mediocrity they have worked so hard to earn. Unfortunately, this'll mean than Intel will become even more arrogant without any viable competition, and we'll all end up paying the price.

Good job projecting motives that exist only inside your mind. I'm sure someone could give you an equally inaccurate psychoanalysis of yourself solely based on this post but I don't see how any of this belongs here, at all.

Lets try to be at least somewhat friendly ok?
I think what you heard on lutjens part was mostly frustration and not slamming AMD.
Now I've met JF-AMD and yes he does know more than we do and a LOT more but stick yourself in his shoes for a minute.
He's the head of Marketing( server side) and wants to promote his new product BUT there are things he just can't say yet no matter
    how much he'd like to.
That's a tough situatiuon to be in so lets cut him a bit of slack.

Dave, you are quite correct about my frustration. All I really wanted to see from AMD is some honesty about the situation and communication of the delays and the reasons for them. A performance preview (which could have been easily combined with the recent overclocking exposition) would've been greatly appreciated as well. Intel has recently permitted a performance preview of Sandy Bridge EP, making AMD's silence even more frustrating and this silence is indeed the most annoying thing. They seem to expect people to continue to wait patiently and without complaint though delay after delay. Although, AMD finally did the recent BD overclocking exposition (sans benchmarks), which was long overdue, they continue to remain silent about almost anything regarding Interlagos' performance or eventual availability. I do understand JF-AMD is in an unenviable position between both worlds, but the total lack of anything official on Interlagos makes me wonder how much effort he has put forward toward getting permission to release something or indeed anything. This, along with the quick denial of any and all unofficial information leaks (which may or may not be completely accurate) suggests an enjoyment of being privy to the knowledge he has about Interlagos. Of course, this is simply my interpretation of the situation, which may indeed be wrong.
