well i invested in a new video card (HD6970) to hopefully play this @ 1920x1200 with mostly high settings and some AA. Since I am in I am in... and I hope this is closer to BF3 then it is to BC3...

regardless I'm gonna play it... I just hope it is what we deserve and we aren't just being served what they think we want.

I am happy to see it as well, Not new though as FPS games like Unreal Tournement ect. had FOV settings in the game menu ages ago, its just the developers have forgotten alot of the simple things that make PC games great and above the console stuff.

^even then though, it was few and far between.

some things i hope that are NOT in BF3.

crappy hit box and ping compensation. (ie getting hit after you duck under cover)

waiting 30 seconds to "update stats" after leaving every server or game (seriously wth is this? wtf)

weapon load outs completely reseting for no aparent reason almost every time you exit the game and come back (i mean come on, and this lasted forever before fixed, and its still an issue switching between DLC and original game, even now)

weapon zoom bug that keeps you in scope but de-zooms to normal until you re-zoom (this is still an issue now and hasnt been fixed in 2 major patches...seriously again WTF??!!....and its a major problem, probably happens 20+ times a game)

going all the way to the main menu instead of back to server browser on exit game (again, what in the hell, and this has never changed)

a hardcore mode, thats hardcore mode. damage and health perks should not be of any use in this mode....sorry to say this....but be more like call of duty on this one....its the reason 75% of the team is snipers in hardcore.

please bring back air vehicles that take skill to learn to fly.

and wth with slugs....wth. nobody snipes in real life with shotguns....i mean i know its a game but omg.

......and more, i still freaking consider bad company 2 in beta....my freaking god man.

    Nope, Hard Reset has it

I do share your fears about the game shipping with lots of bugs because that's the history of DICE: tons of bugs, and many of them never got repaired.
It happened so with BF2, BF2142 (which, by the way, inherited some of BF2 bugs), Mirror's Edge and BC2.
    It will happen with BF3.
    DICE can't code .

Still, the game looks better than I thought at first.

Yeah, I don't get why the beta would have it locked ... it better not be in the final release! Looks great though!

Beta emails still haven't arrived in the US for Origin orders (they gave em to steam MOH owners already, sigh), they're two hours late so far, plus download times, and counting .

Ye I share the exact same opinion on their coding skills, I asked @repi if they used software analysis tools, he said no, however when I asked @deplinenoise he said the used microsoft tools and some pc lint to a certain extent.

Here are my screenshots for comparison of the settings:

    LOW: http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/8318/lowt.jpg

    ULTRA: http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/1687/ultraa.jpg

It's bugged, no question, and stuck on LOW. I did restart the game as well before to see if settings changes would work then and there's no change at all. I tried custom with everything maxed, ultra, and low presets, nothing changes.
