well from my standpoint and the reason i was talking about the future a bit, is because of SB-E, we are going to see same frequencies prob as current SB CPUs, just with quad channel and better PCI-E. i think most extreme benchers will switch from SB to SB-E, in that case its a whole other ball game. But i don't know if the SB-E will OC upto 6ghz for their best CPUs of the line, but we can hope right? If that is the case tho, then you will see all attention shifted towards SB-E, just as it happened in the P55 to X58.

BTW loud, why would i use the M4g-z if i have a sniper 2 in my main rig? lol

anyways X79 is another ball game, hopefully we will see some great products, interesting asus hasn't shown any pics yet.

Oh I don't know, maybe it's because it tends to clock better, has a much more polished bios, the 2133 divider actually works with a broad range of different memory, and lets not forgot the price

Plus I like the fact that Raja and Shamino are there to answer any technical details and provide excellent support whenever certain issues need to be addressed (3d01 bios from Andre)

Honestly I have never been an Asus fan prior to P67/Z68 and usually have used nothing but Gigabyte boards with no problems, but I think Asus's implementation of P67/Z68 was executed very well, whereas Gigabyte. . . . well not so much. Hopefully they redeem themselves with X79, but until then I think I would like to try one of their AMD boards (UD5/7).

and sin, I don't even have a M4G, just the P67 M4, but everything I have seen seems to indicate it is a nice board despite the fact that it is a MATX board and has no NF200, and as for the Sniper 2, I think there is a larger portion of overclocker's on these forums than gamers, and having to pay extra for things like the Killer NIC and Creative audio is a moot point to them

I wont disagree that GB could have done better with LGA1155, and i do agree the Sniper 2 is a waste of money for overclockers, but that doesn't mean it can't OC and have good 3D efficiency.

The M4G-Z OCes the same as my UD7 does, BLCK is like 0.05mhz higher because of the skews i guess, but its not the same board as the M4E. Its VRM is much different, except for the same PWM and same inductors, the M4G-Z is closer to the P8PZ68-Deluxe with a three transistor design using TrechFETs, which are very good quality anyways, the M4Gz uses phase doublers like the Sniper 2 and GB boards(the M4Gz uses 4 phase of the Chil PWM, i believe its an 8-phase Chil PWM), those 4 phases goto 4 different ICs, each of those ICs contain 2 drivers and 1 doubler, so 1 IC per 2 phases. its actually a neat design, but its not the M4E, the M4E uses different FETs and one of those Proadlizer caps as well as Chil drivers directly hooked to each set of 4 FETs per phase(their use those IRF CanPAK OptiMOS if i am not mistaken, that is correct right Raja?). the SF is divided into half on the M4Gz, hence the max 550khz SF, but it makes no difference, transient performance is probably very high like on the M4E and LLC is better than UD7.I will give it that. While the M4Gz might require a bit, maybe 0.02v less than my UD7 under load, and since the UD7 has to set a bit higher voltage b/c of its LLC, yea I can say i can get the same clocks on a bit better voltage. But my max clocks aren't more than 10-20mhz different and that is just because of BLCk Skew. i actually had better OC luck with the Sniper 2, its LLC works just like it should, even with 10 levels. I haven't really done much more testing than that on the Sniper 2 tho except for max clock, it was actually very easy and simple to OC, except it has no buttons. There is no BS in that statement.

i am not going to talk bad about ASUS nor GB, for the past 5 months i haven't said anything bad about ASUS. i am just saying i am more interested in X79.
