Question SSD 60 GB Raid 0 vs SSD 120GB

    Hello guys,

I’m building out a new pc and wanted to know if I should get two OCZ Vertex 3 60 GB and run them in Raid 0 or should I get one OCZ Vertex 3 120 GB? The Raid 0 config costs about $199.76 (with rebate) and the single 120GB is $179.99 (with rebate).

Will the raid 0 performance be worth the additional cost?

it will mainly depend on how you plan to use your system. What are your plans? What type of work do you plan to do on it?

Many people are running the 64gb drives in raid0. A lot of guys are recommending the Crucial M4 drives as well. Possibly the best bang/buck right now.
I personally do not recommend OCZ, but thats preference

i'll be using the rig for music production, graphic design, vfx and general use. i'm not a pc gamer. so not really gaming. i'll only be using the drives for os and apps. storage will be handled by four Samsung Spintpoint F4 2TB.

The only thing you need to watch if you raid 0 is not to max them out the performance will drop if you fill them up, vs the 120gb which you can because of the trim support..
