    HP touchpad OC'd to 1.7ghz

Picked up an HP touchpad on tuesday and installed preware and a few new kernels.

Got it the stock 1.2ghz snapdragon up to 1.7 and stable. No extra heat and battery life seems the same. Running at the same temps as before the OC.

WOnder why HP released it @ 1.2 if it can run 1.7 so easily...

Combined with the Preware patches, this thing is no pretty dang fast...Really happy for $99

Very Interesting indeed- maybe it is unfortunate the way the "firesale" occurred for the fact that over all I have very good reports of the OS for the touchpad. Of course it is great for the consumer but pretty sad that with tablets an app market in the 1/4 million is the way to attract customers when only 1,000 are actually useful

Mike and I also got a pair of the touchpads for $99, the app store is not so bad and the maps are the best I have seen. Check out the birds eye view around buildings and your house, very cool.

Need to find guides to getting another OS installed, but this one seems complete for now.

yeah i definitly gotta check out apps and if there are any other good preware other than the 5 or 6 listed in the guides to install.

just getting a hang of navigated around webOS, its definitly pretty good, just the touchpad gets heavy after awhile

Yes it is heavy from the gorilla glass front. I plan to use suction cup to hold the back side of the unit and bolt a stand in my jeep for navigation. It does cache maps and it easily access 3G/4G through my phone. Mike is already using his for off road navigation.
