The Ambient teperature the temps are in DegF.

Original Lowest temp, Load is 100W, all I had.

First I removed a little of the 404A I used a Postiive pinch off tool and soldered in a schrade valve. So this has R404 in it.

And a little more

And Now with R507 This is with over 80 degF ambient.


Going to Fugger for testing to see how much better the OC is now...

BTY The Shop Is slammed right now there are six projects in the works and First is a cascade going to a member. Then the three stager, then an autocascade rebuild/conversion, then a Memory cooler as soon as the new lines get here. And then a Frankstien Prommy.... And then the Auto cascade build. All of these are in various stages of completion. Yes I have been asked to butcher a prommie in the most xtreme way possiable, Still working on the final layout at first I was going to use scrolls but in cascade they have issues that doesn't work well with my valving and controls. Sleep is down to 4.5 hours a night with the occational 20 hour "damn missed a day sleep binge" My nephew is coming down and I hope to use the extra help to get cauht up.

Nice results by bleeding off some freon in the LS.
Any idea how much of a heat load capability you lost by doing that??

Well that was a 100 W load plus a high ambient, Going to be put on a prescott in a day or so... I will post results here. After I changed it to 507 I got even better results as you can see.

No, the green label means it's 1Phase 115v 60hz. The yellow labels means 1Phase 230v 50hz .

The lable on the compressor says R507/R404. It was charged with 404 I believe. The guide is this I used a positive pinch off tube to seal off the process tube then I added a schrade tube and valve then I unpinched off the tube this gave me a service port with out much disturbance to the original system. I then ran the system monitoring the pressures and temperatures. I shut the system down and removed only my guages and hoses worth of refrigerant vapor I did this three times and arrived at teh final temp of -42.F I then let it stand over night in a temperature controlled enviroment. I static charged (gas only) with R507 and then I tested it at -44 the room temperature was 84F for the static charge and the operating conditions.

So, with this "pinch off tube" thing we can add a service valve in a system that doesn't have it (and it's charged with gas), without taking off the gas inside the whole system?

Can someone post a pic of that "tool" or proccess?

Now I see what you are talking about... good idea!
But do this work like this, isn't like pressing a balloon full of air?
Or we must go pressing from the end of the closed tube and for about 2cm ("pushing" the gas for the inside) and then open a litle bit of the top, weld the valve and re-open all the 2cm section that we have pinched off earlier??? Is something like this?

BTW, someone can post pics of the inside of an Baker evap? Not the promotional pics, but some pics you may have so I can see all the sections inside, below the top plate, all....

We start by dressing the process tube so that the end is assessable to a tubing cutter. There is a portion of the process tube that is already pinched off we attach our pinchoff tool behind the other pinch making sure to leave enough room for a tubing cutter. Clamp the tool down, cut the tube, while cutting when you just cut a little through listen for seeping gas if it leaks tighten the clamp down more until there is no gas leaking. Finish cutting then braze in the schrade valve. attach guages and purge a little gas from the line ( Very little) The pinch off tube and rounding tool are the ones posted by pythagoras
