    Silly rad towaaar

First watercooling project ever and i warn you now, update will be a bit slow, i am a student and i can buy a bit of stuff every two weeks.

Goal of the project is to have a cpu-gpu-mosfet watercooled rig that all fit in a case smaller or as big as my antec 200 that i have at the moment. Temp goal is about 50c at full load for every components with a overclocked gpu and and a 4+ghz xeon.

    Planned spec:
6core xeon ( if there is one under 500$ if not, it will be a 32nm i7)
M-atx board most likely the rampage gene II for the moment
    G.skill perfect storm 3x2gb 2000mhz kit
I either keep my hd5770 and watercool it or i get a hd5870 and watercool it.
Maybe a sound card and if i get one it will be a auzentech
Rest of the computer stuff is from my last build like blu-ray drive and spinpoint f3 500gb

    Watercooling stuff
    Mountain Mods monticle 18
1xBlack ice gtx360 for the cpu( at 100$ i couldnt resist to have the best triple rad even if it will only be the best with very high cfm fan)
1 swiftech mcr220 for the gpu
1 black ice pro I compact for the mosfet
    2x swiftech mcp350+xspc reservoir top
Koolance compression fittings and other stuff that is not decided at the moment.
And alot of Yate loon d12sl

    The little water mover

    The fans pile

Some close up on the little mod i made

And general picture of the case

    Nice stuff you have coming!

For your cell phone pics, you'll have good luck if you can place your stuff by a window in the morning (or late afternoon) - or better yet, try your photos outside. (only the last two are a little difficult to see - the others are fine).

me also i love, it is exactly what i wanted, even with the rad i have planned, i still could put another 240mm rad and a 140mm rad. But if i really need more rad, i will just put a 240 on the side just under the drivebay cage.

Little modding update, since i put the mobo tray in inverted position, i had to drill a hole in the top panel to secure the security flange of the mobo, did the masking tape trick to be sure i dont do any scrathes while peircing the hole.Everything went fine, i also tried to take some picture but damm that my phone is really not made for that, i will try to borrow someone camera to take some better picture. I also found out by measuring soe stuff that with the triple original panel i could fit 2 360mm rad and 1 240 rad without a single bit of modding but i would lose the possibility to put a 120rad at the back near cpu which is not a big loss. So if any one want to put a fermi sli rig with i7 and full mobo coverage on water, you could get pretty decent temp with this case.

thumbnails dont redirect to fullsize pics

place the cam on a chair or something like that and use a longer aperture time with a lower ISO; this should lower image noise and make the pictures sharper!

    little update

i have decided to get a usb dvd drive enclosure and get a scythe kama bay plus to make more place if i ever get a card that need more than 12inch of length. So with the scythe kama bay plus, i dont need the long drive bay rail so i cutted the rail and i have now 15" of free lentgh for some uber long gpu. The scythe kama bay plus will also help to give the gpu bacside ram some airflow. I will surely change the slim fan in the kama bay for 1 of the yate sl i have. Also even tought my black ice gtx360 is somewhere between my house and jab-tech, i have decided to get instead a black ice gt stealth so it wont be too much cramped for crossfire-sli situation even with push pull fan setup and the gts should give me about the same temp as the gtx. Tommorow, after school i should be able to take some picture of my drive rail mod and use the photo tips of generic user. Pump, tops and rad should also arrive tommorow or tuesday so i will also take some pic of the rad installed.

Need some opinion for the choice of my 360 rad. I am torn between the Koolance 1020v and the black ice gt stealth. Both ar very thin fan but with high fpi count and they are both 60$ and whichever one i choose, i will use a push pull setup of yate loon d12sl. Which one should i get to watercool a i7 @ 4ghz+ ?

    A update
In the last week, i got my xspc res top, my swiftech mcr220, my blackice pro compact and my Black ice Gtx 360 rad. So today i played a little bit with the camera to get better photography skill and the result is not so bad. I also dig out from my closet a dummy matx mobo and some mem stick to show you a bit how the final setup will look like. Sadly, when i tried to fit my gtx360, i found out that my top have a 25mm spacing. I contacted Ben from MM and got everything sorted out so the replacement top is on the way and should be here in 2 week max with the other order i made at directcanada which consist of a Silverstone Strider plus 1000w ( gone with this psu since its fully modular so it will make sleeving alot easier and for a 1kw psu, it was kinda cheap, paid 180$ for it), bitspower x-station for connecting my fans and my pump and to ease the cable management and a scythe kama bay plus to cover those 5.25 bay and also give some airflow to the gpu backplate.

And the result of my photo session of today.

    I need your opinion.

I have the option of putting my rad externally to make more place internally and be able to use a regulare atx motherboard. For the moment i have a Black ice gtx 360 which is about the same thickness of the koolance 360 rad plus a row of 25mm thick fan.

The setup would look a bit like that:

So should i install my top externally and be able to use regular atx size motherboard or i put the rad internally and use matx board.

Did a little bit more modding today. I mostly did a home made fan mounting for one of my pump and i drilled some hole for the mounting of my other pump and the hard drive rack.

Update time, ig ot quite alot of stuff to show you. Fisrt off, ifinnaly got my 1kw silverstone strider plus psu and some accesories. So i decided to put my current rig of my sig in the case while waiting for new stuff to come. So yeah, for the time, it is air cooled.

Next step are: getting a i7 860 so i can try out some ddr overclocking and maybe also try to get back in the top 10 for vantage with 1x hd 5770
After that, its getting me the fittings and block for my i7 and my hd5770 and it will be my first time leak testing and everything else
Finally, it will be some sleeving from mdpc-x for my silverstone psu.
The project will be then finished but it might get an update when sandy bridge and bulldozer come out.

Here are the pic i took today, for the time, i did messed around with the shutter speed setting and it is quite fun.

Looking good there. I can't wait till my MM gets here. I was dreaming (maybe it was a nightmare) last night of how to take care of the wire management issues seeing I hear MMs can be a bit challenging on that end.

Awww man I'd love to see an update on this build. I am so tempted to get a Monticle 18 myself, it's such a cute case
