Anything over 3.8 gig cpu is going to benefit best with ram around 1800 6-6-6 at no more than 1.72v to ram to extend its lifetime.

My Elpida hyper can reach 6-6-5-15 1T at 1600 (2000 / 7-7-8-21) at 1.7V. But one day suddenly it died.................
The model was G.SKILL Perfect Storm 6GB Triple kit - I used it on AMD 890FX, used only two, reserved one for emergency use.

Just like mine 2000MHz CL8 old kingston kit can do 6-5-5-15 1T 1600 but this kit needs 1.725-1.75v to get it pass 32M superpi32M.
Was ur kit GMH-e or NMH-e?

    nah, hypers aren't that fragile.
i've a set of kingston that run at least 200 hours (most of them with intel 1366) at 1.95 volt in the past year and till now no degrading or dead stick.

tsan, which bios of the MSI 890FXA-GD70 did you used?

All (pretty much all) ram runs 1T. DDR3 is very different than DDR2.

DDR3-2022 6-6-6-18 validation in my sig is 1T.

1.65v (this kit is rated from 1,55v to 1,75v)

    1840mhz 7 7 7 21 @ 1.65v is memtest stable 300%.

I will not give to much voltage to this elpida hyper kit

That set should be capable of much higher than 1840 at 7-7-7. Is it just the X6 IMC that's limiting you?

In fact, those A-data kits were generally close to the GTX2 in overclocking performance... wouldn't surprise me if you could do 1850 6-6-6 with 1.7V or less.

Those adata kits were not generally close to GTX2.

Worse than the SuperTalent 2200 C8, you could get probably 1700 6-6-6 out of them
