Thats been my approach for a while With a powerful GPU setup, the score will scale faster with single-threaded MHz than with HT for the CPU test, for sure
Never tried single channel But I always felt that as long as the RAM and Uncore were "in the zone" there'd be nothing to notice from tweaks here and there, or crazy uncore
HT off for 06 is a totally viable option on Gulftown. Even on Bloomfield it was surprisingly good. I don't know about most people, but I usually back the CPU down like hell for the CPU test anyways. If you can power through at full speed with HT off it could score even better. You could also try stuff like HT on but only 4 cores active, or affinity on the strong ones etc. Single channel is also way better than most people would expect, much unlike with 05.
if you plan on running HT off you can try running in windows 7.
win7 gets a much higher graphics score. Windows XP was only beneficial for single card XP runs. But with the graphics scores of late i think running it in win7 might yield better results.
agree with vivi , u may try win 7 tahn win xp....
