    New card help?

    Hey guys,

I was looking at getting a new GPU, hoping to match 2 GTX 260s in PPD for about $180. Anyone got any ideas?

Is that even possible currently or is it better to stick with the 260s? The reason I ask is because I still currently have the 260s, but the friend that I lent them to for the summer (which is why they aren't crunching) wants to buy them at $90 each.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for the help guys.

A 570 would equal those two 260's. They look to be about $322 new. However, the saving in electricity would pay back the extra $142 in about 9 months, assuming 24/7 crunching & $0.12 kw/h.

so your saying a 570 will produce 120-140k ppd? I do not think there is any card that can replace 2x gtx 260. My 260 produces 60-70k rac

I'm currently running 2x275's which together are averaging 222k ppd. A single 570 could get that. All cards being over clocked of course and running only long wu's

Well, this computer is going to my gf's, and she doesn't pay electricity as long as it's under $180 a month for her and her 3 roommates... So I don't think I can factor in electricity to this... is that really the best I can do?

So it's best to stick with the 260s?

Hey guys, sorry to change the topic. Does the 65nm GTX260 work?

I don't know of anyone else who has one... so you'll have to try it out.

Unlike me.... I'm sitting here just wanting to upgrade, but can't justify it. Hopefully with the 6xx.

(if anyone has justification I can use... please speak up. )
