If its not working with it connected you're connecting to the wrong spot probably.

I tripple checked the spots. Even with a DMM. When i read the vdimm voltage it says about 3.3V but the board just won't boot.
hehehe
post ur modded board pic..
mmm... if you connected like the pic it should work...
please compare also your points with the red-dot-pic here.
... or possibly you have an switched vrm onboard like this epox ?

ok thanx...
measure the point without it connected, should reflect what you have vdimm set to in bios +/- .1v

Plz post update for IS7!!
i have changed my mainrig and have now back again the is7-e for playing.
here the pics.
first pic is like the others, one of the three wire is enough for working, but more is better.
no opening, cutting, desoldering, simply connect...
pic #2 is vtt mod.
is functional-similar like ic7 ...
the blue marked tracer must be cutted between the both ends of resistor.
check again if the tracer truly open.
scratch blank the tracer and solder resistor on it, 5 or 10 ohm.
gray wires going to top side and connected to an vr 200 ohm.

I have some questions about this mod witch i couldn’t find an answer to in this topic.
1. Do you need to solder a wire to each dimm slot or do all the dimm slots get raised voltage if you solder it to 1 ?
2. Can you still measure the vdimm at pin7 even if you dint use that pin for soldering ( you probably can but i just want to be sure).

have your board particular dimm-vrm for each dimm-slot ?...1. Do you need to solder a wire to each dimm slot or do all the dimm slots get raised voltage if you solder it to 1 ?
2. Can you still measure the vdimm at pin7 even if you dint use that pin for soldering ( you probably can but i just want to be sure).
yes, all vdimm points raised...
i connect to this red-marked pin(s), which i can easyer connect... lots of choice
all the marked pins should (original) be connected together and with pin7 too --> all vdimm.

is it possible that some mobos have overvolt protection of some kind ?

I did the mod on my shuttle AN35N and it worked great.

Hi guys...
Lot of good info in this thread...will help a lot of ppl reticent modding is own hardware.
Anyone here already tried the mod on a p4c800???
I made the normal vdimm in LM chip but i would like to test the mod that way to see if there's any difference...

oh, this is'nt good news.Jalmir - many that limit to 2.9v or less have OVP, especially the latest Asus 939 boards.
but... how it works ?
you can try make the wires longer and connect it together after post is complete.
(but try this not with running win, memtest86 is saver if crashed or unstable...)
... i mean, the ovp is also "away-modable"... should..
p4c800, i think is like the p4p800, whats the big difference between board to board..

no pin for vtt. vtt is the memorybus termination. 0.5 x vdimmI did the mod on my shuttle AN35N and it worked great.

you can find lots of little 4er resistor-arrays around the dimm-socket.
one side of the arrays are all connectet together with a bigger trace.
this is the vtt and measurepoint (to ground).
