EK makes them for the UD7 but IDK if they fit the UD5. You can email them and ask if know one knows here.

I'm on the UD5 1.0 but does your boards take a long time to post? I feel like mine takes a while to post.

When I boot my system I can hear my CD drive spin a bit. But most of the time I feel like it auto reboots or something (before the screen comes on) because I hear the same spin pattern again on my cd drive... Sometimes it does it 3 times before I see a splash screen. This can mean like 10-15 secs of waiting before I see something on my screen. I'm curious because I tested my OCs in Windows with Linpack for HOURS AND HOURS. Should be stable.

Is there something in the BIOS I'm missing? Like initially the power sent to the CPU isn't enough? I remember my old DFI Ultra-D board had some setting for the VCore but also a setting for startup VID or something for when the system first powered up before setting the clock speed?

I'm just wondering if my system is struggling to post or if its just slow in general for everyone to post.

Make sure you are updated to the latest bios first.

When vcore is set to manual the option below it dvid (voltage off set) can be set. the colum on the left contains your cpus VID take this + dvid = total voltage. Example My 4.5ghz overclock need 1.4v at load to be stable. My cpu's VID is 1.25 so i set DVID to +0.1500. This will also let vcore to drop at idle.

Boot issue set boot order to 1. Hdd 2. none. 3 none. Set hdd order with boot os drive set to first. If you need to boot from cd you can press F12 at start up and choose cd.

You can try enabling quick boot. This well omit the IRQ screen during post.

Make sure OS hdd is connected to sata2_0 port cd drive is sata2_5 port all other hdds can be after OS drive.

    beta bios f7j

Has anyone gotten 3TB drives to work on this BIOS?

I have been using the gigabyte RAID in the meantime for my 3TB array, but I was hoping they would have updated the Intel BIOS with this release.

GB has some software you gotta use in conjunction with the 3tb+ BIOS.

I see. That wasn't what I thought they meant by a 3TB fix.

I am trying to use the Intel RAID bios to run two 3TB drives in RAID 1. I was hoping it was a fix for that ROM. I have been using the awful Gigabyte RAID ports in the meantime, but it's really a pain.

Will using one of the custom ROMs listed earlier in this thread update the Intel RAID BIOS to the point where I can do this? If so, which one should I flash? (My board is a GA-X58A-UD5 rev 1.0).

I would get the latest BIOS they have. I know they released some that helped support the larger Drives.

I am using the latest version, F7J, which claims to support 3TB drives. Unfortunately, what they mean by this is that they have added a utility to create "virtual drives" for 32-bit OSes that can't see the full 3TB of space.

The Intel RAID ROM is still the same old version that can't see more than 746.5 GB of space on my 3TB drives, hence I can't RAID them through the Intel BIOS and have to use the Gigabyte RAID, which is workable, but annoying since I am using the Intel BIOS to RAID my SSDs.

If you think latest Intel RAID ROM will see them properly send me a PM to remind me and I can do that for you if you like, but I don't use drives that large so I can't test to verify the new ROM allows you to see larger drives like that.

    Ga-z68x-ud4-b3

    Hey guy's,

I know I'm in the wrong place, but I would like some advice.

    I just took delivery of a new GA-Z68X-UD4-B3, i7-2600K, and 8Gb of Corsair Vengeance 1600 C8 RAM.

Any OC hints for this ??? Probably similar to a P67, maybe.

    Cheers

If anyone happens to have the small chipset heatsink (the one that's removed to install the water block), that they have no further use for, I'd like to buy it. Send me a PM with what you'd like for it, thanks!

Hey fellow UD5 R2 owners, question on the dual PWM headers on the board. Anyone know of a way to controll them individually? Gigabyte has Easy Tune 6 which does have PWM support but I'm not sure a) which header it's controlling and b)how to controll the second one independently.

In case your wondering what I'm doing, I have a Thermalright Shaman with a 140mm PWM fan that I have connected to the bottom PWM connector of the main board.

I have heard Speedfan can operate the other fan headers that ET6 does not control. Also heads up Sysfan_2 header only operates at 5v. So fan will operate at half speed. Someone also said speedfan can fix this to operate at full speed.

Thanks, I checked out Speedfan and it did recognize the fans operating speeds but didn't allow for control(or at least I couldn't get it to work).

I'll tool around with it and see if I can make any headroom.

I'm about to receive UD7 ver 2.0 , and currently have UD3R ver. 2.0 , then I can do Bclk comparison with Xeon E5620 on air . I hope there's an improvement , although my UD3R manages 235 mhz bclk on air / 225 mhz stable .

There doesn't seem to be any difference with overclocking on UD3R rev. 2.0 or UD7 rev. 2.0 . Only difference is 12 vs 16 phase power and the dual lan and different heatsinks . From that point of view the UD3R is a real good buy - overclocks like hell .

Any chance of modding UD7 ver. 2.0 bios FD9 LSD ? Pretty please .
