Every skt 775 cpu i've had I lapped down to 5000grit sand paper and perfectly flat surface. R we still doing that on these new SB chips, or not really? If I remember correctly, I think I gained (lost) about 2-4c across all cores lapping my C2Q's....

Mine runs so cool and even across the cores I seen no need too. But yea I have lapped many in years past and had nice results.

I lapped my 2500k. While the IHS was concave, lapping didn't really accomplish anything more than evening the temps out across the cores.
