    Supermicro C7P67 - Thoughts?

I've been commissioned to build a computer for mainly office and sound production (Pro Tools LE) use for my father. Goals for the build:
-quick disk access (taken care of by a 256GB Crucial M4 and a WD 1001FAEX)
-system longevity (can hopefully be used for the next several years with minimal upgrades)
    -near-silence.

I hope to accomplish the latter with a P67 motherboard that sports at least 4 (hopefully 5) PWM fan headers. The only motherboard that fits that bill is the Supermicro C7P67 - but I've heard nothing of it. I have no idea whether the SATA3 ports are controlled by the chipset or the Marvell controller, nor whether the motherboard actually natively supports PWM fans, or if it does, what temperatures the board relies on to change the fan RPMs (i.e., not all the fans should change speed with the CPU temperature).

Can anyone shed any light on this motherboard? Are my hopes to find a motherboard with good PWM support just plain silly?

Why do you want PWM? Get a fan controller, set it and forget it I find the change of pitch to be more irritating than the volume of the fans any day of the week.

I've had issues with squealing before with fan controllers, which would be unacceptable in this application, as the computer will be in a room where audio recording takes place. Any recommendations on a fan/controller combo that is extremely quiet (~1500RPM max) and has no squealing or strange noises throughout the RPM range?

Better yet, grab Scythe Gentle Typhoons AP14s or slower and run them at full speed

    I am using this MB,
    CPU is a Intel i5 2500K (unlocked),
RAM is HyperX blu 8GB DDR3-1333 (PC3-10600) CL9 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit (Two 4GB Memory Modules) I have 16GB worth installed,
CPU heatsink is Cooler Master Hyper N520 but using two newer different fans- Enermax T.B. Silence 92mm Fans, which can use the fan controls off MB or you could use a add-on fan controller so you can adj each fan speed for the noise/temp, which I am using and the CPU never gets above 34DegC running at 900RPM. I am using the on-board fan controllers for the case fans instead, four Enermax T.B. Silence 120mm fans.

SATA ports are controlled by both the chipset and the Marvell controller; supermicro has the manual on-line for download
