driver support is a bit slow at the moment. Board has the capability of course, just need them drivers from nvidia

Beep there should be no significant HDD performance difference between mobo manufacturers however AMD chipsets are slower than Intel so that's the likely issue pccriminal is seeing. Refer to Tom's hardware review of 890 boards (havent seen full blown 990 roundups but should be similar), PCMARK Vantage would pickup on HDD performance weaknesses if there were any http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...7,2640-13.html. UD7 has the highest HDD score in fact there but as i said the difference is marginal.

Dino they need to fix many things.. NB frequency is not ok at all..we have many issues when we try to run at 2500+ ,like freezes, system crashs ,blue screen and sometimes the OS will not load.. and doesnt matter if the memory clock is 2k or 1600
but i cant wait to give LN2 to her

weird...maybe you should try some 240GB Vertex3 just to be sure if that's board limit or what.
we dont have a Vertex3 with a capacity larger than 120GB
    but we are testing 2 120gb drives @ raid0

I believe that there can be significant HDD (and USB) performance difference between mobos (with same chipsets) and mobo manufacturers. It always depends on the BIOS. If the developers can create a decent BIOS then it's fine. If not...

pccriminal, do you have any data what the CPU is capable with other boards in terms of NB speeds? Have you checked the NB VID with DMM to see what the real value is? Those HDD speeds, do they look off still? They seem ok but i cant recall now what my SSD raid performance was like to be honest with Intel.

best to compare apples with apples Oli otherwise you have to fill in the gaps. I dont see a Gigabyte 990X board there and do see a bunch of Z68 boards.

setting same HDD modes and setting turbo functions on for USB3 on all boards and then test every single setting. It should be all very similar imo. It's impossible to know if the reviewer used native IDE mode or switched to AHCI with that Z68 board. I recently picked up on some HDD performance slowness with one of local magazine's software apps testing the systems because they used IDE mode instead of AHCI on GBT boards as it defaults to it while Asus had AHCI default, not sure if this would be related.

    here m8

i cant remember the highest stable frequency for NB but 2800MHz @ air was fine
and i havent checked with a digital multimeter but the issue start at 2450Mhz-2500Mhz range and i tried vNB from default to 1.45v

Those HDD speeds, do they look off still? They seem ok but i cant recall now what my SSD raid performance was like to be honest with Intel.
    for P67 i think 8XX/8XXMB/s(read/write)

Hopefully Tech Report will test Gigabyte 990FXA-UD7 as well and then we'll be able to compare the results. I would really like to see nice results from this mobo, because it have a pretty good layout and looks nice overall. I had two Gigabyte mobos in the past. The first was a GA-MA790X-DS4 which died after one day, and one year later a GA-MA790GP-DS4H which wasn't so satisfying for me. My primary problem was the pretty poor BIOS support.

I'm eagerly waiting for the 990FXA-UD7 reviews now and I really hope that the mobo we'll get positive feedbacks.

I should test my 890GPA-UD3H vs my M4A89TD....pretty sure the M4A will win in SATA performance...my 790X board was also not very good

I have also been advised that Vertex 3 has some new 2.06 firmware out and you should update it before further tests from their support website.

Can you please provide cmos dump for your setup so we can look into NB issues. i will PM you my email.

all filled 1 patterns or all empty 0 patterns, and not random fill/empty ones.

There is a option for it in crystal disk mark. I don't know why, but Sandforce doesn't like the random mode.

First test he did I couldn't see that because the software was in japonese.

The second (raid test) shows that he've properly selected only the fill pattern.

no ,the first run with a single disk was 0 Fill ,because i was making a direct comparision with his guy,
    he used 0 fill also

its the same disk and under the same firmware
but he is using an ASUS M4A87TD - USB3

the write seems Ok,but not the read and i used the Microsoft ACHI drives and AMD ones
and after re-checking again, the Microsoft ones gave me a boost in read but i loose in write
