Phenom II X4 980 BE and 955 BE under LN2

Yesterday I was testing the new Phenom II 980 BE and my one month old Phenom II 955 BE. Mainboards were MSI 890FXA-GD70 and Gigabyte 890FXA-UD5 (revision 3.1 with AM3+ compatible socket). The other hardware were memory kit Super Talent Performance 2000 MHz CL8, power supplies Gigabyte ODIN GT 800W and Fortron (FSP) Everest 85Plus 800W, MSI R5870 Lightning, etc...I was trying my 955 BE first, because I had to wait for 890FXA-UD5 for 980 BE. We had 40 litres of LN2 and a few kilograms of dice for 2600K (very bad piece for overclocking, so we don't have any result). I used Otternase Extreme and Kingpincooling Venom pots.

Two 32l dewars, but with "only" 40l of LN2

    Precise work

Gigabyte 890FXA-UD5 in new revision 3.1 with new AM3+ ready socket

    A little snowman in action

    955 BE is 1101BPM and 980 is 1041EPB

Results aren't so bad, but I'm little dissatisfied, because I didn't achieved 7 GHz goalThese results are on both MSI 890FXA-GD70...Giga 890FXA-UD5 wasn't bad, but did only 6,7 GHz with 980 BE

And some benchmarks with 955 BE...why not with 980 BE? unfortunately the mainboard was wet on some place and it started to do very strange thingsI don't know why, but I had bad efficiency in Super PI and wPrime...in wPrime, it was quite interesting (strange?) that I was able to run 32M test with only 5,7 GHz

next try with 980 BE will be on FlanK3r's LN2 session soon and with Crosshair IV Formula or Crosshair IV Extreme...so I hope in 7 GHz

that 1.9v+ maybe to high for benching. as i realized, amd likes 1.75v -1.85v for benching, higher only for valids.

I know, but maybe it depends on processor, because with lower voltage it froze at the beginning of 32M wPrime test...my issue was in wet mainboard I think

Lowest clock - same TDP makes sense, more leaky parts in 955 models
