On oc.at a User postet a 18k Score with his 6800GT (PointofView) but he can't publish.

That would a core speed of 640 or so I guess assuming that the P4 speed does not have much effect on GT2 and GT3 ..but I thought it did, so that must mean that his core speed must be even higher perhaps, say 650-660.

What cooling is he using ?

I know you can select null pixel shaders to get a higher score, by how much I dunno, but the tests would have missing textures and so on. I havent tried nulling PS for benches yet, did he choose this? What volts is he running?

IMO he is on stock cooling no voltmods
No tweaks either.

of course he thinks its one cause hes benching at air on both CPU and GPU.
So I also think it. Or he just found a serious glitch in the drivers / bios or something and wont tell us.

Honestly at the moment I'm not 100% sure how I reached the value, but it is repeatable!

I benched a second and third time and reached 18059 or so.

I'm currently evaluating the reason but please consider the Ultra drivers.
I am not sure maybe because I run the Ultra drivers on the GT but it shouldn’t matter.

I am currently sure that it is a bug.

I saw an improvement in the 3DMark2001 too. But it wasn’t so significant because of the used CPU.
As you know 3DMark2001 is pretty CPU dependable.

I am sure that I would easily break the 20000 Points with this setup and an adequate CPU.

BTW: Could you help me with the BIOS (6800GT to Ultra flash) -> link

If it is a repeatable bug then that is a bit worrying to be honest as it reduces 03 down to people just exploiting the bug and this is far worse than say 44.03 driver opts in nature 2001.

I guess I should say nice score though even bugged , looking forward to your investigation so we know more about what might cause it, hopefully it will be a one off.

Not sure what you mean by Ultra drivers, there are no specific ultra drivers AFAIK or am I missing something here ?

Well, I just cracked 23k 3dmarks





This was with just 560/1270.
You can get scores like these by nulling the PS stuff, but it runs like crap. My highest score with 60.85 with full settings is 17375, unfortunately, it will be grouped as "cheat" scores due to this "bug" as I don't think there's a way to differentiate between the 2.
I have a video of 17306 run that some guys like Runmc and sierra bound has viewed, at least thats some kind of proof that it isn't a "crap-looking" run.
And even worse is that these scores can be published if they are under 15k I think.

Its pretty tough....

You'll have to right click on desk top and go to advanced properties and your graphics card tab, and then check the 3 null PS boxes.

Only then can you get uber scores like this

oh yea btw, a Mach II GT is cooling the X800XT.

I think reason why many of us can't publish legit scores might have something to do with this.
