Steven, looking at the price, why not opt straight opt for a G1 Sniper, UD7 or RE3 ? A daily user will at least want more USB ports...better onboard audio. It's too bad but I see this great initiative turn a bit on itself (with the delayed release date)... I hope the sales are still decent, but the marketing guys are cutting their own wrists now with trying it to sell at the new price...

If the price was lower, users could add their own preferred audiocard and still enjoy the ultra high selected components... now more chance they might turn to another product in the lineup... we will see in the near future how sales go...

Maybe if Dino adds some nudeness on the backside of the box that it will boost sales...

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Nicest compliment anyone has ever given me. Well, yes, perhaps I don't get marketing.

What I more or less do get is how sometimes people bend their mind so they can fit the situation. In your case, suddenly making things like 2x USB3, SATA6 and stereo audio much more important to almost justify selling at a higher price point. Just a few quotes. From you.

    - "Like no other motherboard its sole purpose is to fulfill the needs of overclockers, and overclockers only"
    - "but it is the first motherboard to be targeted solely at overclockers, and extreme overclockers at that"
    - "With this board you don’t pay a premium for ICs(chips) you will never use (extra USB, dual NIC, eSATA, IEEE, or even 6 channel audio)"
    - "The way GIGABYTE has focused in on different market segments is impressive to say the least"
    - "A board made just for one purpose, and one purpose only, OVERCLOCKING!"
    - "honestly, they did a terrific job at GIGABYTE, and times like these makes me want to try and get a job at a company so smart!"
    - "Above all else this board is built for extreme overclocking"
    - "the G1.Assassin for gaming and the X58A-OC for overclocking"
    - "It is true that other boards can probably facilitate (close) to the same overclock, but it’s cool to have a product only made to facilitate it, and facilitate it well."
    - ""Our community is small and its hard to sell a product to a very small niche, especially with all the competition"

    And so on ...

Just to say: theory of the board is very good, the execution could've been better.

Received my board a few days early from Newegg. Who the hell taught them how to pack? They threw it in a big box with only paper as padding. The main mobo box looked ok until I opened it and noticed a huge dent on the interior box lid that covers the actual board. The box must have been dropped from pretty good distance for the heat sink to leave such dent in the box lid. Hell there is even a tear in the anti static bag that lines up with the dent. Will call Newegg tomorrow.

I thought it was already out?
Sandybridge-E boards will be at computex and I suspect samples being sent out within a couple of weeks, so... damn... bad timing really... unless Sb-E doesn't really perform...

If it is any comfort, first shipment of 4 motherboards (might be more and some has been booked already) is estimated to arrive in Denmark on 20th May, at the main store.
I think there is 0 press samples in Denmark, so nah, you are not alone.

Yea, I best keep quiet, last time you wrote that I tried making a "I told you" back at you, but.... That was about the X58A-OC being targeted between UD5 and UD7 as for price - so eventually you were right

    EDIT;
But actually according to Tim's post on the blog, 2-3 weeks, 2 weeks from 5th is 19th, 3 weeks is 26th, so.... 19-26th, Tim isnt telling shift, but the pure facts... Just some people here that think because it has arrived some places ahead of the estimate - that it is widely available in the stores, which is not exactly the case.
If you need further assistance with claims, dont ask me, my PM box only has 1 PM left
