Fermi produces so much heat there isn't a lot you can do without better cooling, i.e., something subzero.

Lightnings aren't mate for Air or Water cooling.
Usually this cards clocks worst on Air/Water compared to Reference design cards.
Even with a good card it's hard to go over 1G on Core...
And another Point is that good Air/Water cards clocks bad on LN2 and good LN2 Cards are to hot for Air/Water
We tested one new card 2 days ago. It can run 1000/1325 3DMark11 on 100% Fan Speed with just +100 on the GPU core. But the card seems so cold that we don't realy exspect good LN2 Results.
The card still being awsome, but after seeing my last 470 with this waterblock reach 925mhz, I supose I was expecting a little bit more mhzs. Well mates, thanks for the help.![]()
better brother
Try to have such.
I left a Lightining 580gtx video is the first that I came home for moa contest in Istanbul, but died when making vmode.
This chart rose to 1.33vt 1400core -150, and 1250 core 1.23 vt.
here is the video:

..
Awesome run there KB![]()
Because if you looked at [DRACO] youtube link, you'll see he used it
Yes, but he used a lot less voltages (I suppose you were at ~+500mV, maybe I'm wrong) so I think it would be almost the same clocks with higher voltages.
I don't know if it is the reason, that is why I asked if you used it because I wanted to know what is behind these low fps problems
You disabled OCP for 1600MHz run?
Born to lose, live to win!
If you use APS in combination with the OCP hardmods, you'll force your card to put all power through lower amount of phases and kill your card.
Where courage, motivation and ignorance meet, a persistent idiot awakens.
heres the new firstever vrm+ram temp monitoring for a fermi card
that i was asking about a few monhs ago
MSI Afterburner 2.2.0 Beta 3 is ready, this version took a bit longer because many new products are included, such as HD 6790/6770/6750. And of course, the new chip from NVIDIA this month.
Changes list includes:
- Added core voltage control for alternate revision of reference design NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 series graphicscards
- Added new compatibility option to "General" tab, allowing you to select GPU
type on some graphics card models using different GPU types (e.g. low-leakage and high-leakage Cayman GPUs on RADEON 6950 series graphics cards). The option affects default reference GPU voltage and 3D voltage control path
- Added memory and VRM temperature monitoring for custom design MSI N580GTX Lightning series graphics cards with NCT7718W thermal sensors
- Added memory and VRM temperature monitoring for custom design MSI R6970 Lightning series graphics cards with NCT7718W thermal sensors
- Updated MSI On-Screen Display server:
- Fixed resource leak in desktop video capture path, causing it to start capturing plain black frames instead of desktop after a few minutes of desktop video capture
- Fixed issue causing frames in video stream to be periodically duplicated during desktop video capture causing video stream to be longer than it is supposed tobe. This could cause audio/video de-synchronization after a few minutes of desktop video capture
- Improved OpenGL On-Screen Display coordinates calculation for framebuffer
coordinate space mode
- Added custom raster 3D fonts support to On-Screen Display in addition to the previously available vector 2D / 3D fonts. On-Screen Display 3D mode rendering mode switch has been replaced with new vector 2D / vector 3D / raster 3D rendering modes switch
- Now On-Screen Display coordinates are specified in pixels instead of zoomed units
- Now it is possible to use drag-and-drop in On-Screen Display preview window to adjust On-Screen Display position
- Now On-Screen Display supports tabulation symbols for better appearance in conjunction with variable width custom fonts
- Updated Korean localization
- Added Simplified Chinese localization
- Added Indonesian localization
