Do you think it is really worth it. You can get a 1600 for $54.00, no shipping charge.
I'll find out next week. Ordered one..figured wth...shouldn't have a prollem selling any of my 1600's as the slowest one does 1.9GHz![]()

My thoughts exactly 'cept I couldn't wait and had it overnighted.Originally posted by [N8]

I already sold a AGKGA XP1700+ I had laying around and I'm probably going to be selling another AGxGA XP1700+ after I recieve this new toy. So between those two chips I should almost cover this buy.
Someone on another board mentioned these were probably "A" cores but still, any Tbred for $75 is a win in my book.
Yea...I just wanna see if it can top my 1600+ @ 2024MHz on straight water![]()

Even the A cores oc pretty good if you have good enough cooling. The only thing that was holding them back was the fact that they were running hot.
Did ya see all the "mobile" chips on there too now? I don't understand how they're different but man do they want some $$$ for em![]()

The mobile chips run on low voltages I think it was in the 1.4 area maybe even lower. I think most of the higher mobile chips are tbreds with low voltages.
are these really worth it?
i have a axp1600+ it does 1.733~1.8 but i havent got my water installed yet so i dunno how good it is hehe.
but i dunno if it would be worth upgradeing or just waiting till the 24/2600+ drop in a price a bit.
my nect cpu must hit 2.4ghz easy, cuz im tired of not being able to break the 2ghz bearier(sp?).
Nice, Jeff!
So it def. is a Tbred-A then right?
Can't wait to see how it clocks for ya...mine is on its way![]()

sweet Jeff let us no how it oc's. mine will b here monday.![]()
Nice pick up Jeff
Can't wait to see how high that puppy escalates to. Let me clear up a misconception about the CPU's and being "unlocked". The T-breds starting with the 2200+ are ALL unlocked. The problem being the motherboards at that time would night recognize the stock multiplier on said CPU's. It was determined that if the CPU was changed to a multiplier the board recognized, it would function. This is what connecting the 5th L3 bridge accomplishes for older motherboards. The L3 bridges simply determine the default multiplier. We at first did all 3 L3 bridges....because that was what a stock 1700+ T-bred was..all L3's connected...then it was determined by Deerhunter just doing the 5th L3 accomplished the same goal. The only problem is you lose the default multi and have only 5x thru 12.5x. The newest motherboards coming out have the multiplier recognization problem fixed and should function with all from 5x to 22x such as the newest Abits do with the latest bios.
Jeff...the 1700+ T-bred will function in any board because of it's multiplier

Jeff,
Thanks for the update
How's the temps vs. a Palomino? 1920MHz is no slouch, but I was kinda hoping for more...hopefully w/ some more voltage if the temps aren't so bad. I'm anxious to see if its fully unlocked in my 8K3A.
Which cooling are you using on this chip BTW?
Edit: thanks for answering 1 of my questions, Randi![]()

Thanks for clearing up the lock/unlock issue MrIcee.
I can't really compare to the Palo. because I'm using a new cooling method so I'm not sure what a Palo. acts like.Originally posted by [N8]

I'm using a Swiftech MCX462+T... basically an air-TEC. But I'm also utilizing the nice, cold weather we're having and ducting outside air right to my Vantec Tornado. With that all said, I'm at 24C with the CPU at 1967MHz and 1.9v while running Prime95. In comparison, my XP2400+ would probably only be around 18-20C with the CPU at 2200MHz and 1.8v while running Prime95.
Thanks Jeff.
I've been able to run 2.2v into my Palomino @ over 2GHz and stay under 45c so I'm hopin I can send at least 2v to that tbred & keep temps reasonable![]()
Then it will just be a manor of how well it scales @ that voltage/temperature.
Don't stop now, Jeff....go go go![]()

I ordered one of these as well... so i'll be posting up here sometime next week with how mine does tooseems like they could be the new overclocker budget chip.
DFI Lanparty NF4, A64 3200+ @ 2.5, 1gig BH5/6, 80GB JB, 2x 120gb seagate SATA Raid 0.

My chip topped out at 1997MHz w/ 1.95v. I think I could have gotten her stable with a bit more juice but my mobo is limited to this voltage. I'm going to look into how similar this 8K9A2+ is to other Epox boards and who knows, maybe the Vcore mod. will be easy.
The funny thing is I could get Prime95 to run at ~2050MHz for 20 minutes but as soon as I'd move the mouse the computer would freeze. I know I can get more out of this thing with more juice... damn it I need more juice.
This is a pretty nice chip for $75 delivered.![]()
well if it hits 70 bucks, im gonna get one.
Is there an easy way to unlock these? :|

Yep, just buy it.(it's unlocked from the factory)
well ill wait till there like 65-70. its not worth going from a GOOD axp1600+ to a .13 1700+ if your not gonna gain any speed.
Someone wants my 1600+.. so...
Can someone Test this 1700+ .13 in a kx7 and see if all the multis work?
ill lose 35.81 buy selling my 1600+ and getting this 1700+(with a newegg year warrenty)
and i dunno if its really worth it.
