the problem is not the dc2 or lightning...both have a very good pcb that can handle top perfomance/frequencies.
You only need a lucky gf100 and i think you have the same probabilty on both sides.

Vid of our card was 1.13v. The card is dead maybe from cold. It was a very strange think, when temp went -160c I have heard a very strong crack and that was it, card never played again.

Sounds like the pot pops off the HS... this happens sometimes...
DCU have the same problem, ask stummerwinter
