    What temps with EK HF & i7 950 @ 4.4?

As title I want to know what to expect...On the same cooling a q6600@ 3.6 runs at 42 deg LinX ambient 15 deg

I have plenty of rad but suspected that I needed more pump However when I did a bucket fill flow rate test I am getting >1.5gall/min

This is my first time pushing the overclock on i7

Am I hoping too much to get under 60 deg on this 950 running 4.41 and 1.424v in this ambient? I've seen people say these are hot but this will be over 75 deg in summer here......I will have to turn up the fan speed above that

I'm not an expert on WCing, but that sounds right to me. You have a whole heat gradient from the circuits all the way through to the water in the block.

The only thing I might do is make sure you have a good mount. Just suspend WCG for 30-40 seconds and watch the temps drop - the steeper your drop the more effective your cooling. (Again, idk about water, but a good air cooler should drop about half the distance between full load temps and idle temps in only 1-2 seconds.)

And 75 deg for an i7 is nothing. It's not going to hurt the chip. I ran mine at 90-95C for almost 11 months with no appreciable degradation. (I did however end up killing the VRM on the motherboard, so those temps do matter...)

    Hope this helps.

OldChap yup I think your asking too much, you'll be hard pressed to get those temps at those volts. Run her back to 4.2 and you should be able to get away with around 1.32v which will give you what you want.

    Holy smokes! (literally )
That sounds so hot! I'm keeping my 950 at 60C at 3.4 with around 1.19v
maybe i should up the clocks

When I get home I can look at the voltages it was at... Temperatures don't bother me too much, as long as it's under spec (which was 100C for i7 1st gen iirc).

I'm a wuss when it comes to voltages though.

With those settings I don't think 60C is very realistic. I am at 4.0 with 1.19v with the loop in my sig (also EK-HF) and I am hovering around 60C.
    However, I think 75-80C should be no problem for a i7 as I also run a i7 930 at around 80C 24/7 for the pas 1,5 years.
