Well all come down to using gvf11.exe and the gigabyte BIOS... that utility won't flash with any other BIOS but the Gigabyte's...

A tip from me - if ya want the ATI Original BIOS, then flash it with flashrom - it won't mess with the "pipes" thing.... I've just done it and now I'm back with the ATI Original BIOS, 525/575 clocks and a better ram overclockability...

If 16 pipes work with Ati Bios how did not work before? or the old bios from before was from sapphire and u are using now one from ati??

Well can u tell me the Ati bios download url and what flashrom version and commandline u used?

(i too noticed better overclockability with old bios..)

    Greetingsss

Well before I was using flashrom for flashing.... and was getting that "Preserve R42x settings" message.... I think that was the problem...

the GB BIOS i've flashed with the GB tool.... I don't get that message anymore and here we go - 16 pipes....

after that I flashed the ATI Original BIOS with the flashrom - and I got the better ram timings/voltage (I guess) back.... here you go the BIOS:

P.S. Rename the archive file to .ace .....

Too bad my Sapphire VIVO died before I got to try it. When i boot it up it just tells me to connect the power cable even if I have done it already.

Codeman, I saw on Rage3D that you got the lasercut!

Close it and use the new bios.

If it works for you then it might work for 99.999% of ALL X800 Pro Cards, even those with 2.0ns Ram!

Everybody who was unsucessful before with the hardmod should do the hardmod and flash the Gigabyte bios!
    Think this should work!

Well I closed the cut, and the card started freaking out. So maybe the mod worked and the pipelines are fubared.

I went ahead and tried to join the 2 points with a semicircle of sorts, just to avoid a straight line incase I had scraped to far down into the PCB. Well the card acts normal now but still only 12 friggin pipelines

I'm gonna double check the hardmod one last time, but Im about ready to give up lol.
Atleast till I hear a new method
The card overclocks great, so I feel like I'm pushing my luck screwing with it so much

@Codeman: maybe you need to lower your o/c a bit!
Think it should work for you too!

You just get the problems when loading up 3D, don't you?

Try it with 500/500 Mhz or so!

    a) the Gigabyte Bios is lowering your voltage,
    b) you won't be able to go as high with 16 pipes as you did with 12 pipes

So clock it down and enjoy your 16 pipes!

I had it booting at 500/500 actually hehe. Using radlinker, thats what the card was supposed to load at when windows fired up.
And the voltage is regulated by my Vgpu mod, I did check the voltage anyway, and showed the same 1.7v

The problem isn't artifacting either. Its like the refresh rate drops to .5 fps.
The destop loads, screen goes black for 3 seconds, screen comes back but is a little weird, goes blank for 3 sec, comes back normal...and repeats. And during this whole time I can't do anything lol

    Um...strange problems.
I would try removing the VMod, might not be working 100% correctly.

Normal X800 Pros will probably not work.

I already made some guys try this

It didn't work, to make it short. No matter if they had the dots connected or not, still no go.
