Thats ok, but my Geils do 1600 Mhz @ 6-7-6-18-72-1T with 1.59v Dram, and 1.275v QPI with 6 modules :p

I just tried some low CPU voltage testing, my CPU is stable at 3.8 Ghz @ 1.225v, but its still pure crappage at 4.0 or 4.2 Ghz (needs 1.3375, and 1.3875v for those).

I'm gonna leave it at 3.8 Ghz while I wait for the I7 970 price to reduce some more.

Just preliminary testing... I'll shoot for your timings since it's the same chips.
I've had the memory for only a few hours =P
Currently running 1000mhz stable at 7-9-7-24-82-1T
    1.35v qpi(unoptomized) with 1.8x Uncore.

I think you must have much better chips, mine are really old elipda somethings. THey dont much like going over 1900 Mhz on the R3E.

I've just booted up with 6-7-5-18-60-1T @ 1.65v, not sure if its 24/7 stable though but I'll test it.

i thought there was something funky about that... i got 4.27ghz to be stable at 1.28 for like a day... and then it never happened again... and i'm on a 980x and i'm getting the same thing. totally stable at 3.8 with roughly 1.225-1.23 vcore but as soon as i touch 4ghz i need atleast 1.33-1.34 and 4.27ghz at 1.375-1.38. that's a pretty stupid power to voltage ratio there and it was like this on both my 980x chips.

However I might still ask if not already asked several times: I'm using 3-way SLI (3xGTX580) and would like to buy an Asus Xonar Essence STX (or similar) audio card. Can I just plug it in the bottom red slot without issues with the 3-way SLI? Wouldn't that at least hurt my performance?
depends on the card's PCIE speed requirements. if i remember correctly, the last channel (when using 3-way sli) is turned into a 8x PCIE lane instead of 16. so currently you're running 8x / 8x / 16x with your 3-way sli (according to the owner manual). your last slot will be 8x by default.

In quad-crossfire I think the lanes would be split into x8/x8/x8/x8 so with 3-way SLI, I might get x8/x8/x8 + x8 lane for the last slot if it's occupying a sound card. The X58 has 32 lanes by default without nF200? Specs for the sound card:

    Compatible with X1, X4, X8, X16 PCI Express slots

So it would use only X1. What would this do to the 3-way SLI lanes? x8/x8/x8?

EDIT: X58 has 36 lanes according to wikipedia. This would mean that the last slot is x4?
