thanks for point it out and make me search and find that eventhough the P67 Fatal1ty, doesn't have "OFFICIAL" support for OC DNA in its F-Stream Utility, can be easily added.. i have in fact ready compiled one slightly modified version of F-Stream for these 3 m/b (Extreme4/6 & Fatal1ty), that adds the fatality mouse port setting for the Extreme4/6 and OC DNA for the Fatal1ty, but i'd like an Asrock Representative to contact me to clarify some (legal)things 1st..

My chip passes LinX and Prime95 at 4.7Ghz but when I game, it always crashes. What's wrong with this board? There's absolutely nothing else that can be adjusted! Any ideas?

Thanks but I don't quite get what it means. Do you mean with offset mode, I should have LLC at a lower level (i.e. Level 4 or 5) instead of Level 2 which I'm using now? I've tried increasing the VTT and PLL volts a notch or two but doesn't help.
Most of the time my game crashes with some weird memory errors or graphics problem. That is horrifying.

Tell us what some of these memory errors are. Codes would be useful.
And what sort of graphics problems? It could be the video card at fault, the PCIE slot could have problems...the drivers could be installed improperly or have problems...who knows? Need more info...
How about some specs?
You didn't give us any information. All we know is you have an Asrock P67 something...
Can you pass prime 95 blend for more than 6 hours? If you can, you shouldn't be crashing because the CPU is unstable...
I suspect you use Offset Vcore voltage setting in UEFI??
if so, with the settings, you pass prime95 (26.5) , try to run it with only 2 threads, and from windows task manager, set affinity for prime to either 0,1 or 2,3 or 4,5 or 6,7 logical processors. and stress it for a while (if you crash when gaming in a short time.. then its likely you will crash in a short time too..). I assume (wrongfully) that you use "sane" settings for your memory :P

Try the below
If you are receiving random BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) under Windows 7 OS without any warning at stock or what appears to be stable OC settings, please download the following patch from Microsoft to have the problem fixed (98% fix rate): This hotfix will be in SP1.

Anyways, do you run fixed or offset vcore?
Does it happens with powersave feature on or off?

You mean the hotfix, well it was worth a try, it has helped a lot of people that didn´t upgraded to SP1
Well, who knows what´s up with your Pro3, the UEFI is probably not good enough.
I guess it happens at stock also?
I guess you have tried a lot of stuff to figure it out, really don´t know what to saysorry

I seriously gave up and I just picked up a Maximus IV Extreme. I'm now going to put my chip there and give it a shot. If it's the same problem then it must be something else instead of the board![]()

As a soon-to-be Ext 4 or Ext 6 owner, I've been reading this thread with interest, origanally to find out how the PCIE lanes are used.
Now I'm a little confused: the review at Madshrimps http://www.madshrimps.be/articles/ar...board-Review/4 shows the PLX PEX8608 chip next to and almost underneath the chipset cooler, down in the bottom corner where a southbridge chip would live back in the day. However, the Extreme 6 changes this, for example the review at http://www.overclockers.com/asrock-p...rboard-review/ shows the PLX chip in the 'Southbridge' position, with the P67 chip moved up above the PCIE slots, with its troublesome heatsink cover. So, does the PLX chip even need a heatsink?
The stock cooler does look like it'll do more harm than good. The chipset heatsinks from Enzotech might work, for example http://www.enzotechnology.com/cnb_evgai.htm looks like it'd fit with a couple of holes drilled in it, and would be so much better than the stock. It looks pretty, too.
The Zalman ZM-NB32K might work too, and they're heaps cheaper.
Also, are there any issues using a PCI soundcard? I have a Xonar D2 PCI card which I wish to continue using, but as it would interface through the PCIe/PCI bridge AND the PLX multiplexer I was wondering if there'd be any issues with latency etc especially if the multiplexed U3S3 ports are being used.
Xonar D1 here and no complains.![]()
If it ain't broke... fix it until it is.
