Hmm, I didn't know Nvidia's CFO resigned. And a few days before the 590 release.
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
I made a newz on it but not a really great success![]()
Same old, same old... I'm running a 6990+6970 in Tri-Fire with 11.4 preview BETA drivers and everything is fine for me.
Played 4 hours of Dragon Age II yesterday, everything maxed out with PC high-texture pack, Metro 2033, Crysis, Stalker COP, every settings maxed-out with 4AA/8AA. Played all night long. Slept only 3 hours.Smooth fps all along.
Not a single bug/freeze/crash/BSOD all night! And with BETA drivers!
Mobo didn't melt, the noise was not bad, didn't wake my wife or my children, even my neighbor was snoring more loudly then my cards! And my room was not warmer after all those hours playing...
AMD cleaned the house recently, and 11.4 is a good signs of what's coming for them in the next months
I know I know. ''Yes, but I had a 3xxx serie ATI cards 8 years ago and it was a POS AMD drivers are so much FAIL''... blah blah blah.
It's not true anymore.![]()

Yeah, OCN, XS, HARDCOP ... and he keeps pasting the posts ... And he calls fanboys to others ... jeez ... take a second to look at the mirror mate ...
As for Nvidia CFO ... the same with the AMD CFO ... it's some kind of a state of mind with CFO's :P

True. But when people say that AMD drivers are FAIL, when Nvidia cards are having problems with Dragon Age II right now, then it's totally relevant.
So, a really recent/popular game is running better with beta AMD drivers then official Nvidia drivers. That's all. So much ''fail'', huh?
Not important for you, but for others, it is. And the ''AMD drivers are FAIL'' is getting long in the tooth. Same old, same old...
Don't start in here. You could have some posts deleted. Be careful.
Highoctane and Postmodum. Shoot the message, not the messanger. Personnal attacks. Same old, same old.

?!?! ohhhh man ... this so beyond my comprehension ...
Levesque, the fact ... and it's a fact, is that Radeon drivers have been kind of ... bad ... I have a 5850 and when installed the 11.2 everything went bad! I had to do a fresh install in order to make the damn thing work ...
So, i know that for the 6990 release, they had a team "refresh" in order to make these 11.4 a worthy release and i think they made it ... but, either way ... the present is drawn by past actions ... so no one can really forget how bad the drivers were.
I have AMD & Nvidia cards and i've been using both company's drivers for a long time ... and i can say that Nvidia drivers always were much more stable ...
But hey ... i'm a fanboy ... one of those fanboys that want the best performance / best product ... either it's green or red colored![]()

Oh you mean the post where some guy asked for wattage usage numbers of Quad-XFire 6990 and I simply posted videos showing wattage usage of Quad-Xfire 6990? Man, that was some huge flaming.
I can't help it if the videos also contained 3x 580s "massacring" as you like to put it, 2x 6990s in Quad-SLI.
Oh by the way, I talked to the mod about why my post got deleted. He said it was to get you guys to stop pestering him about "ruining" your 6990 "club thread".![]()

Ok. Because YOU had a problem with 1 card, 1 install, automatically all the cards from tha tmanufactuer on the planet are like that, and everyone on the planet is having the same problem? So it's a ''FACT'' because of 1 installation that went bad?
Are you Bill Gates on a pseudo or something? Sorry Mister President.
The planet is not turning around your keyboard and your belly-button.
For 1 really vocal whiner on the net, you have 1000 satisfied users who don't post. AMD drivers are fine. Learn to install. PEBKAC.

LoL you like that quote huh ? You've posted everywhere " Shoot the message not the messenger " ... oh well
But, talking about the GTX590 i'm feeling that at this point, this damn card is a so well kept secret that everyone gets pissed for not knowing s**t about it! ehehhee
I remember that HARDOCP had the 6990 a week before it was launched ... and they teased it ...
This is not happening with the 590 ...
So, maybe reviewers don't have access to it yet ... or the damn NDA is so tight that they can't even sneeze "we have a GTX590 in house " ... ehehhe
P.S. Sure... i'm the only guy saying that Radeon drivers haven't been good ... wake up to reality ...
P.S.2. Please, don't make this thread all about 6990, you have a specific thread for that you know ...

Ok ok. I'm the only one on the planet, on the 20-30 millions of card AMD sold, that is not having problems with the drivers.
It's a FACT, since Postmodum had problem when trying to install drivers once. So I should go in a cave and stop posting, since it's a FACT.

I don't want enter this driver troll war, but for be honest and fair, i have build 3 PC for 2 friends and my brother ( twin ), i get 3 phones / week for solve the problem they get in one games or another or video playback ( ofttly just cause they are dumb to search too for be fair ).. I have choose for them the 460 1go for the price perf / resolution they was aim at and as they was Nvidia user for don't let them lost and in the unknow of a new control panel, thinking like this i will be quiet... nice error from me ( it's the last time i do this for friends ). And no, driver from AMD are not perfect, but Nvidia drivers aren't too..
About DA2, i don't know if it's a backfire from AMD to the Hawx2 and LP2 situation ( maybe who know, they are in right to do it. ), but it's clear Nvidia got serious problem for make run the game with DX11 settings...

You're talking semantics now....
Dual gpu cards have been around for years now, lets not set time lines for the reason brand x or brand z have one today or who was first, second and third with the technology.
If you want multi-gpu performance you can build an SLI or crossfire system and not even care about a single card multi-gpu solution.

Dragon Age II bug fix patch in the works
BioWare's epic fantasy romp Dragon Age II arrives today and there are bugs - "two biggies", lead designer Mike Laidlaw told Eurogamer.
His team is "aggressively patching" these and hopes to offer fixes "as soon as humanly possible".
"There's been a few minor [bugs] and a few technical hiccups on PC. The two biggies that I'm aware of - that we're looking at aggressively right now - are on PC there seems to be some compatibility issues with DirectX 11," said Laidlaw.
"What I would say there is if you fire up the game and and it's running particularly slow or stuttery, move the renderer in visual options down to DirectX 9 for now. We're working with NVIDIA/AMD to make sure patches are coming out, because some if it is actually in the driver compatibility. We'll make sure that's rectified and resolved
Let's hope this will be sorted soon ..
