Can someone give me insight on E762 Impendance and Signals settings, please?
I am only interested in ambient cooling of 920 D0 right now. Both the board and the CPU will be under decent water cooling.
So... Shamino posted this picture here:

I assume that CPU Impedance goes to "Less" by default when nearing 220 bclk (-> high QPI).
    What about the signals?
How do I know how much I need to decrease them? How do I find out when one of these settings is off? Can I somehow calculate that?
Any input is appreciated, from as many people as possible. Thanks.

Edit: and how come QPI Signal 0 is so much different from QPI Signal 1?
And feel free to PM if you don't want to discuss it here.

man this is just piling up on me?my E760 wont allow me to use
any uncore multi below x20 when running x10 on memory w/i7-970?
i was hoping to be able to take advantage of the x1.5 uncore/memory
ratio of gulftown but no go
so now i know i need to sell and grab another UD3R for sure.

hey zalbard, i never used a 762 but i think that those values should be treated like GTLs on P45/X48.
there is no way to calculate what's the best setting, you only need to try & try & try to find out the best for you.
here he says why use negative values: http://kingpincooling.com/forum/show...6&postcount=20

regarding CPU impedance i found that using less gives a bit more stability when the CPU is at LN2 - with both bloomfield and gulftown.
at air honestly i don't know, i've never used the E760 at air cooling.

Hi, anyone have a copy of this bios for the e764 (4way):

    64 Updates:

    * Adds 1.5x uncore support for B1 CPU
    * Adds number of GPUs detected at bootup
    * Adds RC/AC setting in memory timings
It's mentioned in the eVGA site but cannot find to download. I am testing my board as its quirky with a Bloomfield. Thanks in advance...

Edit: Found it in Shamino's Lair....

Hey guys, I'm encountering a problem with my RAM multiplier. I currently have it set at x8 with NB at x16 and BCLK = 200, when I run memtest or view RAM speeds in E-Leet the resultant RAM speed shows up as DDR 1600. No problems there.

The problem occurs when I change the RAM multiplier to x10 and the NB to x20 with the same BCLK. memtest and E-Leet still show the RAM speed as DDR 1600. E-Leet even reports the FSBRAM as 2:8

    I believe I'm on BIOS 77.

I guess you've set Turbo Performance to Enabled. If so, set it to Disabled and try again.

I actually do.. isn't this setting required to attain the 21 multiplier?

No. The Turbo option in CPU features section is required. Turbo Performance option lowers your sub-timings and often fix your mem divider at 2:8.

Thanks, disabling Turbo Performance fixed the issue.

    Hi, guys
wondering where is the problem for 4.2k uncore stable using i7 920 + classy E762. With my previous 920 it was the same like here. I can set max VTT = 1.475V with the current CPU its ok when the memory is lower for 10-12 passes linx with 4.2k uncore and it crashes. When I rise over 1.475 it BSODs too fast(on first loop) does not matter 1.5, 1.55 or whatever I set. So 1.475(or lower) not enough over this too high? Am I missing something or whar? Using BIOS 44(never tried newer). Trying 4.4ghz with 2100 memory.
    Thanks for any tips.

Tried diffrent kits, also with memory at 1680mhz with 4.2k uncore its the same. I noticed that classified needs less VTT than other boards may be 1.47-1.5 ~ 1.57-1.6 on other boards? Dont know the IMC is good I can do 4k uncore with 1.375 VTT (50 loops linx + 7-8 hours prime) may be 1.35 is enough too didnt tried this is with lower memory not 2k, but for 4.2k uncore no go for now...

EDIT: Also I`m talking about water cooling I know that if I mount my SS I`ll do 4.2+ easily but too loud for 24/7.

It's all about the right balance of voltages and settings like RTL. It's some work to do, but it pays off soon IMHO. My 3520 needed 1.424V for 4.2GHZ UClk and about 1.449V for 4.29GHz prime stable. Timings were 7-8-7-21-1T RTL 55-57-59/60 resp. 57-59-61/62 iirc @1.68Vdimm max.

Will try to play with RTLs than, always left these on auto. Also any difference with newer BIOS? Or other tips about settings and important voltages(beside VTT)?

From my experiences I'd say - use older BIOSes as long you ain't using GT. I always had best results with S22D (E759) as newer BIOSes from 43b on were using more aggressive cpu microcodes for the lower i7 and Xeon W ones. That means the second stage turbo multiplier (1-2 cores) is being extensively used instead of the first stage one for all cores. You'd get into deep trouble running the system on the edge 24/7 cause this problem might not show up while stress testing with all cores being used up 100%.

Some settings, that helped me with getting good stability with prime and linx, were the pll voltages as well. I had them set to 1.35-1.5V instead of 1.8V default. You also should examine the effect of different VTT PWM frequencies... sometimes lower kHz seemed to yield better results.
