    hello.

I just came out of hospital the other day but have a small problem with my memory which im trying to deal with. I will get mayhems dye up and running asap once i am in full health. Im sorry for this inconvenience this may have caused.

So one some were just realised that mayhems dye is only done by me this is totally correct as i do it all by my self with some help off my children (stickers ect ect) this is why mayhems dye had to close down while i was in hospital.

All so if you wondering why i was in there a polish trucker decided that his artic lorry looked nice parked up my ass literately at 60 Mph on the moto way. needless to say the car is a complete write off and his bumber was in the back of my head when they recovered me from the car. Apparently the air bag did more damage then the crash (not that i know or remember).

I will post on the web site once i have every thing up and running again how ever this maybe a few good weeks before i can do this.

Take care all for now and will post soon.

allso thank you for the good wishes (all though im a little embarrassed that i dont know who half of you are and will have to re read this whole tread) (my lass pointed me to it).

take care all and watch out for dumb ass lorry drives on there mobile phones ....

Its taken a Long time to decide this and its a shame but due to recent events Im closing mayhems dye down for the moment. Sorry to any one ive let down but this is not some thing i have taken likely. good luck to every one involved and thank you to all that have helped. good bye for now.

Best of luck to every one in the water cooling industry. I do have some coils and dyes left over form the past (and shoot load of equipment) how ever i dont know what do to with them.

I may auction it all off with the money going to a charity that support my autistic daughter.

mlwood37: Ouch. Disappointed to hear that. Good luck in your life and with your daughter's health.
BTW, have you considered selling recipes of your currently developed dyes to some big LC vendor (and/or maybe methodology of developing/testing new ones) for at least current products to still be available for that part of LC community that got used to buying/using them in their loops?

to be honest i did nothing special and this can be done by an vendor who doesn't what to take the micky and just go back to basics and not water down there products to a point were they are just ripping people off.

If people would like the mixes and amount i used i can post them up with out a problem. My testing methodology was simple "Time" that's all it was. Lots of time and a few Very strong UV multi spectral lights to test the UV aspects of the dyes and a PC microscope to check for partials. I used 4 water cooled PCs as well running very hot and cold to check for biomass build up.

As for the filtering process for the dyes well this is were wine making knowledge comes into it .... Its amazing how well wine filters (pressurised 0.5 micron filters) do ...

The only real thing for me was the let down from the UK manufactures of a radiator that i developed which was totally different and a In-line silver filter system. Both of these items were supposed to go into full production but due to rising costs and the UK government rising the VAT to 20% caused these items to be no goers as the would have not been value for money which is a dammed shame.

these were just some of the factors involved plus the fact that my personal circumstances have changed a lot in the last few months and my memory has gone a bit hay wire.

If how ever if a company would like to take a interest in my past work and would like to carry on the goal of producing out standing and value for money product , liquids and dyes and would like to talk to me i would be willing to help point them in the right direction.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I spoke with Mick and it looks like we will probably be restarting the line of dyes under my brand. A couple resellers had approached me with concerns about sourcing his dyes (as well as concerns about Mick himself), and so I decided to see what I could do without stepping on his toes.

I just wanted to let everyone know that they should be available again, and also that Mick will definitely be compensated for the work he has done, even though he offered this for free. I won't make money from someone else's work without making sure they get their share. I had originally planned to re-develop a line myself, but there is just no need to put in the countless hours of work when Mick is willing to help and has already come up with proven formulas.

Don't expect this to happen instantly, as I have a couple orders to wrap up with other customers first, but it will be in the very near future.

    Good job/resolution, iandh & Mick .
I don't use dyes myself but often seen these suggested for getting relatively problem free colored coolant compared to some premixes, so it's good thing for good product to still be available in this hobby.

Great to hear that Iandh! Take your time, we can do without dyes for a couple of weeks. Unlike some other dyes, these actually last longer than 10 days .

And Mick, best of wishes to you and your family . I'm really glad those great dyes of yours won't be lost after all .

Hey iandh, you ever consider partnering with Mayhem for dyes? His location is a problem, he probably knows what I'm talking about... I'm assuming you're in the US, iandh?

I'm in the US. The thing is, I think he just wants to take care of himself right now and not have things like this to worry about, which I can totally relate to, having been in nearly exactly the same situation at one point in my life.

The main reason I am doing this was because I was asked to do so, so that people still have these dyes available. This isn't going to make me rich, that's for sure.

I know the reasoning behind it now, but both of your products have similar popularity and it'd be an interesting combination.

I spoke to a few people and they said that they believe it may be better to still call the dye line "Mayhem" but under my brand name as the manufacturer. The reason is because these dyes are known by that name, and changing it would probably only serve to obscure/confuse customers.

I need to run it by Mick to get his approval for that, but assuming he is Ok with it, the dye will stay pretty much the same besides slight changes to the label reflecting the new company contact info.

edit: I had a huge misunderstanding with Mick. I've edited out this post to say that things are back on track, and it appears that we've patched things up.
