    1 card 4 monitors?

So is there a way to do this I always see AMD bragging about multi-display support ect so I'm curious if there are any good cards under $200 that can do this.

My Dad runs 4 monitors for work in 2006 I set him up with 2 6600GT's and they have been running strong ever since but he wants to upgrade and we're keeping that comp as a backup. But I'm curious what options are out there.

I see this has "Sapphire FleX Technology - "3 DVI Eyefinity + 1 DisplayPort" I'm not sure what display port is I use hdmi and my Dad uses 4 dvi monitors.
So would I be able to use one of these?

Oh did more reading I think it can I just need a display port to dvi adapter. Anyone know if these are any good? I'm kinda iffy about Saphire. Would a xfx 5770 allow me to do this as well? Or is there something special about "Flex technology"?

At my workstation at work I use an ATI FirePro 2450, it is a 2D only card but it outputs 4 monitors. Single slot too, and available in low profile.

All outputs are dual link DVI, which can be converted to VGA, or HDMI.

    i have a Powercolor Radeon HD5770 1GB GDDR5 EYEFINITY5 Edition, can hook up 5 monitors to it,
I currently have 3 24" monitors and a projector hooked up to it and works fine.
it has all DisplayPort connectors but comes with 2 displayport to DVI cables, I just needed to buy 2 more for $25 each.

Sooo I checked out that firepro thing and I do not understand why people would buy one over a 5770.
Only way I could see it being bought is if it was for a business enviroment where you need something that looks straight borring and is straight simple just plug in 2 connectors bam 4 monitors. Not like the 5770 with 4 connectors 3 different types. Still it can't do 3d only 512mb of ram, crazy expensive I just don't get it. Seems like you get like 5 times the value out of a 5770. Thanks guys how is multi screen setup in the ATI drivers? I'm hoping this is gonna be straight simple like
One big desktop screen 1,2,3,4 again. By chance does anyone know what the resolution of 4 19in LCD monitors would be? I'm not currently at my Dads place.

Well I was just saying what I use at work, which is 2D only as I dont play games on it. Plus it was bought back during the 3k series, long before there were things like a 5770. As you said you need a multi monitor card for a business environment, I naturally thought of business model cards. That have business drivers (more stable) and 24/7 specialized tech support available. It was also easier as the connections were already standard and there were no display port adapters back then, so anything with DP wouldn't work as there were also no DP monitors. Plus the fact that it works with a PCI-E 1x slot makes a big difference as I needed it to be upgradeable in the the workstation to as many as 12 monitors if need be, and there aren't three full 16x slots on the workstation board.

So it may seem expensive, but it is right around that $200 mark you were saying, it was all that was available back then, it has free tech support, better drivers, uses much less power, and expandable way past a desktop graphics cards.

Thx for the advice, so going to pick between the Sapphire 5670 and the 5770, the one is twice as fast as the other I'm not sure if the 5770 is much hotter but from looking at the 2 cards the 5770 has much better cooling. Essentially I'm buying it for stability and to last long term. The default driver install what does AMD have their fan set at by default. Feels so odd not saying ATI. This card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-920-_-Product vs. This http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-906-_-Product What do you guys think?

How fast is a 5670 compared to a 6600 GT any ideas? Maybe the 5670 would be enough
