hi guys,
sorry for the delay but i'm busy like hell with work and i have really short time to test the vga
btw i've installed afterburner 2.1.0 beta and now i'm able to tweak core voltage
card isn't that bad, but not that good either. it's vid is 1.016v, i haven't tried yet to oc, but i've seen better cards with just 1.0v or even 0.980v and worse card with up to 1.050 or 1.060v.
so, in the end, i dunno if vid is some sort of indicator but i assume that small vid = better oc and big vid = worse oc ... my card should be in the middle, not good but not the worse either me think. gonna post some screenshot asap
thank you again![]()
I wanted to switch back to NVIDIA so I bought the MSI N560GTX-Ti TwinFrozrII/OC and put my XFX HD5870 1GB up for sale. The plan is to buy a second MSI GTX 560 Ti Twin FrozerII/OC to SLI when the 5870 sells.
Here is my first overclock with the card which is great. I will now try for 1000 core.

^^ you guys both seams to be getting too low min-FPS. I've been getting that too but that's with unstable OC.
Your total score seams to be low for those high OC too. This is what I'm getting with a mild 910/1200 OC and stock voltages. A fresh run.

Hello guys,
can someone Upload the EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB BIOS?
The Fancontrol of my Sparkle card sucks.
greets
Im considering the GTX560Ti TwinFrozrII-OC from MSI to replace my going 3yr old GTX285 and I would like to ask is 1Ghz core clock pretty easy to achieve with a minor voltage bump using software?
After back reading seems that 1Ghz is not that achievable but 950Mhz seems to be pretty common, this card also has great potential in SLI as ive seen on the hardocp review and other sites as well.
BTW does the MSI Twin FrozrII-OC oc better than the Palit Sonic or its all about the luck of the draw?

The OC-headroom seams to vary a lot, much more than typical GPUs. It looks more like Intel's Batch# variations.
Some partners seams to be cherry picking good chips for factory-OC models, so if you want a guaranteed 1GHz, then you should get a GB SOC.
On the other hand, this cherry picking will increase your risk for a dud-chip if you buy a stock/OC model from GB. The same may apply to others too, tho.
So I guess, either buy the highest factory OCed model from those who cherry pick, or buy from those who doesn't cherry pick at all. It's not easy to know who is cherry picking or not, so in this case, buying form partners who doesn't have a factory OCed model would increase your chance for getting a better chip.
I personally would go for GB SOC tho, it doesn't cost much more.

Interesting theory you have there. Never looked it at that way, but the chance will be big you are right.
Got myself also a MSI GTX560 Ti Twin Frozr II OC, runs great at stock so the overclock isn't needed but on the other hand, I thought 1Ghz was easy, looks like it's not! Even at 1075mV and 1Ghz it isn't stable in Furmark. But as I mentioned, the card is fast enough on stock for me, so I don't bother doing further investigation when the card will be stable at 1Ghz.
Yeah. it's fast enough. All my games are running smooth at highest settings on my 1920x1080 monitor at stock. But it's always fun to OC, and we always like to squeeze more
1GHz is not easy on a typical GTX560. Stock Voltage (~1.0v) is already bumped up beyond the sweet-spot, so voltage-increase won't scale good, and doesn't help much.

I can run at 1 ghz but the little extra just really isn't not noticeable it runs most anything at stock settings just fine but I do run mine at 940ghz while gaming to keep the temps down a little bit. the cards a beast to say the least.

Actually my choices are limited to whats available from my retailer, its either a Palit Sonic Edition (900MHzcore) Inno3d or a MSI TwinFrozr-IIOC
The MSI is about $15 more expensive you recon its worth the extra for the better coolor and components?
I wonder if even 950 is 99.99% achievable by the MSI cards.
I totally agree with you sam , GTX560 overvolt won't scale good .
About 1.0V-1.1V is the best in my experience (Air)
If your card can overclock to 1000Core , you can use very low voltage to done it
If your card cannot overclock to 1000Core , you overvolt to 1.212V is useless

BTW between the GTX560 and the GTX580 what do you guys think, I can afford either but im looking at the value of both cards.. not specifically the price/performance ratio but is the GTX580 worth the extra cost ?
580 is much better for sure, it's the best single GPU, but it's a bit too late to buy it now. It would be much better value at at release time.
The price didn't fall since release, because it has no rival yet, but with GTX595 and 6990 right around the corner + new gen GPUs a bit later, it may fall really fast.
This late, I personally think it's a good idea to get a "cheap" 560 and wait out for the next gen to hit the marked.

Has anyone got an idea what kind of voltage is recommended to use on the memory for these cards if I want to keep it for a while instead of toasting it? Gigabyte SOC has voltage controls for the memory so I'd like to know what I can hit it with...
Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?
GB has just realized 1GHz it's not easy, LOL. They have moved to 950MHz now, and I guess this the end of 1GHz SOC.
