Mine needs 1.35V for 4.8GHz, and somewhere around 1.45V for 5GHz, cannot test properly because of too much heat.

A little 30-min Prime run to test the effect of VCCSA.

Reducing VCCSA to 0.900v has actually reduced the vCore. I've tried the same speed with VCCSA=0.925(default) before, and then it couldn't get in W7 with this vCore. It would need 1.144v to get this far.
I've bumped up VCCIO a bit. The CPU and RAM wouldn't mind running with less, but my GPU (GTX560) like it better with VCCIO=1.075v
This is one the best 24/7 low-volt actions so far, hey my i7 920 was running with the same temp at Idle at this speed

I'm running VCCSA at 1.80V and PCH at 0.91V for a whole day now, if it boots it should be stable. Did not see the effect of VCCSA as you are describing, my vcore stays the same.
Now testing CPU PLL at 1.5125V, didn't boot at 1.50V, I think it's the same as other two, if it boots, you're OK, but will see how it holds.
Too low VCCIO on other hand, it just shuts down, didn't work on 0.95V, 1.05V is default, so not much headroom left here.

I also saw on previous page a lot of you run Command Rate at 1T, it really works without problem, DDR2 wouldn't run at 1T.

I've tested more, and VCCSA=0.9000v didn't reduce the vCore for 4.2Ghz, it still needs the same old 1.172v. I'm still testing, but somehow, it effects only my low-volts/speed setup (4 - 4.1GHz).

I've been running with CPU PLL=1.71v for a while now. The system is doing good, and it reduces some heat.
VCCIO seams to be important for high-speed RAM, which i don't have. But a small increase seams to be helping the PCIe/GPU too.
Command rate 1T gives better performance and most sticks should be able to use it.

I'm getting decent 24/7 results with 1204. 1253 is slightly finicky at best.

However, I am not a skilled overclocker by any stretch and never tried 1003 or 1053.

Out of curiosity, where did you purchase your board? They've pretty much been pulled off most retail shelves.
Hehe, thx mate for the info, i am on 1253 now. I am European and i got the last one from the shelve.

btw. if i set the vcore more than 1,6V it wont boot. is there a option i can disable or something ?

i have 1253 too. if i give to vid more than 1,55v, during post it writes cpu overvoltage error (something like that) and i must enter bios to lower it.
then i am able to enter windows!

I had the same issue until someone on this forum was nice enough to tell me how to get around it. Of course as always do so at your own risk.

    Some RAM-tests
I've been running with 1333HMz CL8 until now, after all these are just some left-over 1066MHz CL7 Micron-sticks I had laying around.
1600MHz CL9 1.53v looks promising for now , not too bad for these sticks. I may get 2x4GB later tho.

    2x2GB @1600MHz 9-10-9-24 1.53v

Sounds good . Under volting VCCSA seams to have some benefits in some scenarios, but I couldn't find a consecutive trend for befits yet.
I couldn't find any negative effect either tho, and still playing with it.

I have a serious problem here , P8P67 dlx with 1253 - the cpu wont clock higher than stock .
Saved the bios with my settings , first aiming at 4.5ghz - but no go ..
CPU-Z when windows up says 1.6ghz (when I`ve canceled the C1E and speed step) and on load it says 3.4ghz

Did anyone encounter such a thing ?

    Hi ,

    TPU is indeed disabled .

Problem goes deeper when even the AI suite on the OS itself can`t OC ,
It is trying to lift the ratio but nothing is happening , it clarifies '0,042x34' .

If one by any chance have seen this issue - I`ll be more than glad to hear the solution .

Well - I have tried to move to an older non-beta bios - 1203 , did it successfully through EZ flash
and after the reset the following message appears:
"WARNING! BIOS Recovery Mode has been detected!
Please put the file "P8P67D.ROM" into HDD or a removable USB media device and reset the computer.
You can also insert ASUS Supprt CD into your CD-ROM and reset your computer.
If you have done these, please wait a moment and don`t shutdown system!"
So I`ve entered a DOK - with the file and the board does something then restarts , but don`t comes up.
Also tried with the original CD , but no go .

The board is probably dead , just got it tonight , probably the store wont give proper warranty and I feel awful .

Oh well .. There goes my cash and the enjoyment of a new high-end system .

Just tell them the board is dead. They HAVE to honor the warranty. You also have the recall on your side, too.

If they refuse to, contact the credit card company and do a charge back. You'll most likely wind up getting your money back and making some rude businessmen very, very unhappy...

(In some cases, you even get to keep the board, too).

BTW make sure you clear the cmos with the power plug unplugged.

And if the board has a backup BIOS, you may be able to switch the backup with the main bios, or if they are socketed, even remove the bios chips and swap them (but I don't know how you flash the backup bios on that board).

dany, you can order just a replacement bios chip but the backup method should work. Make sure your USB drive is FAT32 and put 1204 on in it but rename it P8P67D.ROM

Which version of CPUID did you use?
Make sure to download the 1.56.3 Beta, which is 100% compatible with Sandy Bridge, in addition you need Realtemp v3.67 to be compatible with Sandy Bridge (if you use that for tempmonitoring)

    dany,

Install Intel Management Engine Interface. Get it off Asus hp. Should fix the 0,042 issue..
Disableing EIST (speed step) also disables the Turbo function. Enable EIST.. Only disable C-states for OC.

Regarding bios issue. Clear RTC (look in the manual).
Else format a USB to fat32. Put bios rom on it. Can you press anything to enter bios? F1 or del?

Tried everything I could think of , read stickies and threads about these kind of cases .
Similar problems described at some forums that I`ve found led me to believe that I have a corrupted BIOS , board wont go into the BIOS
nor start or finish the recovery flashing procedure .
I was at the store earlier and they have told me that BIOS updates are user responsibility and
if they wont succeed repairing the mobo ,they would`nt replace it for a new one .
I really don`t have my hopes on this , I believe they wont replace it .

Think that I`ll just send it to asus for replacement , would probably get a new one with the new stepping , so at least one plus here .

Thank you all for your help and time , I`ll update with some more info when the store shall get back to me .
