Got my Maximus IV Extreme and 3 GTX 580's plus a GTS 450 for physx....This system will all be watercooled...so before I connect all the 580's into the motherboard I want to know if I can run Triple SLI + Physx on this board...I will also be running a OCZ Revodrive X2 on the bottom 4x PCIe slot...Been searching the web, but have found no answer yet..and the manual does not really say..

3 EVGA GTX 480 SSC TRI-SLI 830/1950
1200W Cooler Master 1200W Silentpro Power Supply
Windows 8
Cooling:CPU: 1 D5 pump, FESER 3x120 RAD
New Build so far:
Core i7-4770k @ 5.0 GHz / Corsair Vengeance Pro 2400 C10 @ 2600 / TRI-SLI EVGA GTX 780 SC ACX
Maximus VI Extreme / (4) Samsung 840 Pro 128Gb in RAID-0/
If you have the board have you looked at it? With 3 580s you won't be using a Physx card or the Revo. No place to put them.
Card # 1 in the first PCIE x16 slot will cover up the PCIe x1 slot.
Card #2 in the second PCIe slot will cover up the the #3 PCIe x16 slot.
Card #3 in the forth PCIe x16 slot will cover up the PCIe x4 slot.
No..as I said...I am watercooling all the GTX 580's....I have removed the stock heatsink and fans and replaced them all with Danger Den 580 waterblocks which are single slot...so I do have the slots available..

Might be wise to test the configuration before installing all the watercooling. Might not be enough PCIe lanes to both fill all the native slots and have something left to feed the NF200.
afaik u can only run 3 cards on maximus IV regardless of gpu being single slot.
question does anybody here have this strange hmm reboot/reset issue when clocking dram multi 21.33 with bclk above 103.
example after i set it. test it. confirm stable.
if i off my computer.
and on it
it will run the bios code to 79. then shutdown and then restart with everything working pretty.

Thanks for the info on the 3 cards...I will move forward with the 3 580's, Revodrive X2 in the 4x slot and the Xonar Essense STX in in the 1x slot...

Abit high cpu temps!AVX really does hammer temps!
Does any know if there is any beta bios newer than 0089!
@cstk, u using the latest bios? the maximus should pass 2133 quite easy really the only board which does it with a breeze imo.. Bump vtt to around 1.25 and bump your sys agent up a tiny bit..
Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?
After 2 days of tweaking my system, everything was working fine... but I just noticed something strange. I have an AMD TRI-Fire set-up, ATI 5970 (2 GPU on 1 card) and 5870, so 3 GPU total. I'm using PCIE_X16__1 (first slot on top) and the third PCIE_X8_3 slot. Never had any problems with that set-up on my X58 board. Rock-stable.
Am I using the good slots? No matter what I do, my 5870, sitting in the 3rd slot stays at 0% activity and VDDC current always at 0A, idling at 137/300. Temp never move from 21 celsius. It is properly detected by the bios has an ATI card at 8X, properly detected in Win7, Catalyst drivers says Crossfire is enabled... but it always stays at 0% activity when playing games or benchmarking (Furmark Multi-GPU). GPU-Z says Crossfire Enabled for the 5970 but disabled for the 5870. ??? But working at 137/300?
Do I have to use those slots for Tri-Fire, or different one, since it's Tri-Fire and not Crossfire.? Should I be using the NF200 chip since it's Tri-Fire and not Crossfire?
I also plugged the 2 molex Easy_Plug. But I just lost 4 hours installing and re-installing ATI drivers, reseating cards, etc. Tried Catalyst 10.10, 10.11, 10.12 and 11.1. Enabling disabling ULPS. Cleared CMOS, removed the battery. Reflash BIOS. Arrggghhh. I even tried the Tri-Fire set-up back on my X58 board and it's working properly. But not on the P67!?!? 137/300, VDDC current 0A, nothing else.
Anyone have a clue?

i reread what u wrote
ure obviosuly telling me how to clock my ram high..
dunno y i keep laughing on this statement.
its obvious wasnt about the double post issue
bro2k are u having this issue on high bclk high dram clock.
when shutdown.. it does a double post on stable clocks..

Finally got 5Ghz 2133Mhz Cas6 stable Key was memtest 4.50 for sandy!

hmm interesting johnny
tested three low vcore 2600K's
they need more Vccio for 2133. from 1.1 to 1.2v
funny the high vcore procs need way less.
Guys, quick question about this board. Im thinking of picking one up this weekend, but just wondering, does it support dual 16x PCI-E in 2 card SLI mode? I know it has the NF200 chip, so initially I just presumed it would, but having looked at the asus website, the specs arent 100% clear. Im having a hard time choosing between this board and a UD7, so this could be a deciding factor for me!
System Specs:
Core i7 2600k
Asus Maximus V Gene
4x2gb G-Skill Ripjaw 2133mhz
MSI Radeon R9 290X
Asus Xonar Essence STX
2x Crucial M4 256gb RAID 0
Seagate 7200.12 3TB HDD
Corsair AX860i.
Watercooling Specs
EK Supreme HF, XSPC EX360, XSPC EX240, DDC Ultra w/aquacomputer top, Aqualis XT res, Kryographics 290X GPU block
definitely supports 2 @16 mike and if 3 its 1 @16 and 2 @8x, it just shows disabled in gpuz when in sli with 580gtz x 2 but its working deffo, its basically same setup as the ud7 , you'll like the sandies mike makes my x58 rig seem slow i've my sandie at 5ghz 24/7 at only 1.4 volts
Cool, thanks for confirming that Glenboy... thats kinda made my mind up... the sweet EFI bios on this board has put it ahead of the UD7 for me![]()
