Help with P8P67 Evo Vcore settings.

Right now I'm trying to get my 2500k stable at 4.4ghz but when I set the CPU voltage offset mode to auto I was getting close to 1.4v Vcore running prime95 which was making me kind of uneasy. So I changed offset to "-" instead of "+" and then set the CPU voltage in AI Tweaker to run at 1.25v. I'm running prime with these settings right now and the Vcore is peaking at 1.336v. If I try to do a manual offset I pretty much always get a BSOD when I try to run prime. I have load line calibration set to auto and I'm only using a 43x mult (103mhz blck) so I'm not sure why the vcore is overshooting so much. I could really use some advice or suggestions, I was hoping to keep it at or around 1.3v at the highest. Am I doing anything wrong? This is my first time OC'ing.

44 multi, 100 Bclock, Loadline high or ultra and either use Offset ( so it drops too with speedstep) or set the voltage manually at 1.35... test, if it passes try lower , and so on...

Thanks, I did a little bit more reading and came up with basically what you said. I set it to manual at 1.325 and it's running fine now. So far it's only been hovering around 1.320. I also set the Load-line calibration to Ultra and decided not to mess with the the bclk anymore. I'm probably going to give the offset a shot again and see if I can get the Vcore lower. On a side note, is 62 degrees Celsius a reasonable load temp running large FFT's?

Offset mode Auto is the same as manual mode auto. The clock determines VID.

3.3ghz = VID of 1.2XX (if i recall correctly). Try offset = +0.100. That should give you 1.300v´which should be enough for 4.4ghz.

I've got a bad feeling about what an offset of +0.100 would do because I've tried +0.030 and +.025 and those were still dicey.

Quick update: I just set the offset to -0.025 and prime seems to be running okay. -0.025 is keeping the vcore about where it was when I manually set it to 1.325. I'm thinking about setting the Load-line calibration back to auto to see what happens because when I had it set to auto the idle vcore was only around 1.080.

Offset is hard to tune as the main issue is when the CPU idles the voltage drops down (depending on ya C states selected), but it's the only mode that allows the Vcore drop. You can usually get away with a slightly lower Offset value as the CPU's tend to overvolt. Using -0.030 here for 4.5Ghz

So far -0.025 is working fine, I left all my C states enabled, which were all initially disabled, but I have yet to try changing the Load-line calibration back to auto. When I read +0.100 I almost my pants. I don't really want to burn my chip. Anyway thanks for the help Leeghoofd, so far so good, I'm gonna leave prime running all night tonight with the new settings.
