Just be careful what aftermarket air cooler you pick because not all will fit on the Asus P8P67 boards due to the high rise heatsinks.
A Titan Fenrir, for example, will not fit due to the retention bracket (I tried)...
Thermalright, Prolimatech, Cogage, and a couple of others fit ok though...

What cooling and what temps do you get at 1.6v? Mine sizzles at 1.55.

    Cheers.

I said I didn't need a 2600k..... but my 2500k needs 1.4V for 4.8ghz, lol, so I went to MC and bought a 2600k. How does the L042B208 batch clock?

Yeah I know what you mean.
My first chip was an i5 2500k L040B671 that I set the bios for 1.385v for this:

I didn't need a 2600k either but ended up with i7 2600k L041C108 with 1.36v set in bios that does this:

The only thing stopping me from looking for a 5ghz 24/7 chip on air are the load temps

Your C batch sample is looking pretty nice. How high a multi will it boot into Windows with BIOS PLL voltage overide set to disabled?

I got the worst chip from XS.
    L046B509

    5000mhz requires 1.485v
    WATERCOOLED with highend water

    5300mhz 8 cores craptage stable, no throttling - 1.675v

    LLC enabled.

The chip will not to anything past 100bclk, and for maxing it out, stepping down in bclk pays off... 54x99 is highest freq it will hit.
The chip will not do DDR3-2133, not a chance in hell....

And yet still,.... I am happy with it - I think it is killing as for performance ~7s 1M ~6:30 32M and craptage of 35.5K CPU score...

    Best thing in my book is;
I did not have to listen to any of the BS by Will.I.Am in order to use this CPU

LOL, some chips can't break 4.5GHz stable in the very same thread, I think you're setting the expectations too high.
